The way Tis stopped on the bridge because someone was taking a photograph is testimony to your parenting but to Tis and his own uniqueness, loved this vlog I felt like I was on holiday 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍💯💯💯🤍

I agree, it was great to see Otis respect that someone else was taking photos and that he should wait. So many people in the world today don't have that kind of respect and consideration for others. That's a big thumbs up to Ryan and Damo 👍

Loved this one Ryan and great to see the excellent manners "Tis" has when he stopped for the Tourists taking photos on the Bridge. You and Damo are great parents and it is showing in your children and family. I agree Travelling is the best education for Kids and I am confident you will achieve your "bucket list" with your family.

When I was in kanchanaburi, we talked to a longtail boat driver at the bridge and he took us down the river to a cave temple and a war cemetery, pointing out landmarks on the way. Well worth doing.

Hello Ryan and Otis thank you both for sharing your father and son trip it you are both making amazing memories and I agree in regards to doing it now and not waiting to long life is for living today not waiting excess amount of years to fill a bucket list as we don’t know what tomorrow may bring Otis is clever reading the sign and understanding it’s big money if you break the rules he’s a smart boy you are a fantastic father you are worthy of the Title to be called Dad enjoy the rest of your holiday I look forward to seeing the next vlog thank you both

Ryan. That bridge is not the original Bridge over the River Kwai. There is just a little bit left of the original, which is further down the river near the old steam train.
@MattLewis-f7o3 күн бұрын
The bridge you are on is a replica.
@craigberesford7262 күн бұрын
No the bridge he’s on is the original bridge which British servicemen dismantled and brought from Jakarta in the second world war the small trestle wooden bridge you’re referring to was only built to carry things across the river to construct this bridge. The two square arches you see in the middle Were replacements of the round arches when the Americans eventually bomb the bridge in the second world war after that the British government charged the Thai government 50 million baht for the bridge which they had to pay. Please read your history and get your facts right.

Great vlog today Ryan. So nice to see Otis, a boy only six years old, show such respect and consideration for someone taking photos. Manners like that are in short supply in the past couple of decades, at least in western society. Fun fact that I don't know if you're aware of based on what you explained from your knowledge of the bridge: it's not the original bridge built by prisoners of war. If I remember correctly, the original bridge was demolished. I think it deteriorated due to lack of maintenance, so it was replaced.

Been to Kanchanaburi 4 times previously (Last time earlier this year) and always drive there in a rental vehicle which is best as can explore further afield. Just when you think you have seen everything then many other places appear! from temples, historical war sites, elephants and countryside come into view. We travelled from there all the way to Pai this year in a 3 day relaxed trip seeing so many beautiful places. Tis is a lovely young man, beautiful physically and spiritually, a testament to her parents and you can tell that he is loving time with his Daddy :)

You got smart & polite son. On the boat, he took is hat off so he wouldn't loose it and I don't think you told him too. Also, without you telling him, he stopped for the the other people taken pictures. He is very aware of what is going on around him and considerate of others. Well done Dad.

The memories of this trip will last a lifetime for Otis and yourself. We were there a couple years ago and it's a very sobering experience to learn more about and actually be on the bridge and Death Railway. After exploring a bit of Kanchanaburi we rode the train about 30 minutes to visit Kasae Cave. We then traveled west to Sangkhla Buri to see the Mon Bridge and make merit in the morning with the Monks on the other side. They also have boat rides that let you explore several places and see the sunken temple.

Sounds similar to Taiwan, There is a railway and road in Taiwan's Taroko gorge which was also built by forced labour under the Japanese. They have a memorial/temple/shrine called "Eternal Spring Shrine" in memory of it.

Good on you for not accepting freebies.... Mate, I wish you would put out more content on Ryan and 'Mo. I devour everything you publish. I am subscribed. I love your family, love seeing Thailand from the reality side of things. I am very impressed that you teach 'Tis about the history. I remember very well visiting the bridge over the river Kwai with my kids, so many years ago. This is actually not the real bridge. The original is to the left, if you face North. Just stumps remaining on the river Kwai banks. I am a military historian, so I know it intimately. If ever you get the opportunity, visit Hellfire Pass on this railway line. Such a sad history, and very much part of the Aussie ANZAC history... Good job. Keep it up!
