D4S does good in your vids. I know because of my headlights can’t tell a clear diff in bass. They all sound about the same. But the D4S always sound clearer.

Are they not mounted? Because on this end I can hear them vibrating against the mounting plate meaning that one will sound worse or better than the other on variables such as total weight, snugness in the mounting hole, cone weight, so on so forth. To give any speaker a fair shake it has to be mounted, sorry but absolutely a must. When I hear distortion due to vibration on this end I know there's no way you can make a fair assessment being there because you will associate the vibration with poor sound quality, anyone would

I think i better switch to one of these speakers. Like your videos. I think your setup is good enough to tell which speaker plays better and which does not. Sadly most of the speakers i can buy in the UK but i can order DS18. Just not sure which ones. Should I buy the most expensive or cheaper ones are also good? There are so many different DS18 any suggestions? Then also there are 4ohm or 8ohm. Which one is better, which one will sound better?

Like you've said several times in different ways, these pro audio style drivers are super efficient, lot of loudness from even a factory head unit, I'm definitely grabbing some after some more watching I've been on the fence as I don't want to have to mod the car to accommodate the massive magnets lol but damn they crank going to have to buy a couple of sets just see how I go getting them in the Mazda 3 😂

So good testing but i believe more testing is needed such as how good the parts are and compared. How about better detail in what they are sitting in like a small enclosure or free air try both. Putting them side by side is ok but it dosent tell you everything. What amp is being used. So much is needed to say testing or comparing. Please think about how real scientists conduct testing and how procedures are done. Dont buy this speaker isnt very good. I respect your opinion its your channel and ive been a subscriber for a while. Definitely like the head to head but more info is needed to say dont buy

Cool, but I just put a pair of PRV 6MR20A-4 and they sound great. Def. better than Faital Pro. I am running full to them, hit bass like hell. These both sound good. D4S is really nice, and the DS18 seems to have better mids. thumping bass.

I think you give great info but I do find it difficult to follow your videos... when the camera is facing you its tough to keep track of which speaker youre talking about when youre just pointing at them and saying "this guy"... itd be a lot easier if you just said ds18 or d4s

I have 6x9 DS18 + the 6.5 on the front doors. My amp only throws music to the 6x9 and the sound quality is 👌🏻👌🏻 it’s hard to really compare over video recording though lol but I can tell you DS18 throws quality sound even without an amp

Mike will you please do 1 more test, after all of your normal demo/comparision/test's you do? @ the end of your video's, start testing @ Low power, like 50 watts rms per speaker, set the DSP to Full range, and play each test tone, for 3 to 5 second's, measuring the Db, set to peak hold, about 1 ft., to 1 meter, above the middle, exactly between, the two speaker's, starting @ 100Hz, then 90Hz, then 80Hz, 70Hz, 60Hz, 50Hz, and lastly 40Hz! This would REALLY show what one's got dat Bass! ❤ your video's, and i hope you implement this test @ the end of your video's, or better yet, Make a seperate video, comparing all of these speaker's you have already compared, but ✔ing the peak hold Db, @ 50 watts, with the 100Hz, down to 40Hz, with test tone's!? Please, much ❤️

So I've noticed this PLENTY of times in your videos & I've been waiting & waiting & waiting for someone besides me to stop & say something. You are TRYING to conduct TESTS... But in order to do so you kinda have to KNOW what you are doing to get that started let alone done. Don't get me wrong. You know something, but what......I DON'T KNOW. My problem is this. Most people have not been paying attention to your accidental bias. You keep comparing apples & oranges. If you dont know what I mean, I mean that putting a 4ohm speaker against an 8ohm speaker gives one speaker a handicap. Unless your amp is wide impedance ranged, the 8ohm speaker will always be lower because is only getting HALF the power. Which mean less performance. And from the sound that can be heard you can tell that there is a diffrence in their power to performance range. Now you keep mentioning a DSP, that doesn't matter until you you know RTA & various other things that matter in the "testing" that youre trying to do. Dude, not trying to be rude about ANY of this. But the truth is you've only woke up & gotten out of bed...you haven't yet touched the door to the bathroom to brush your teeth as to where sound & sound quality test comes to point or matter. Please use 4ohm & 4ohm...or 8ohm & 8ohm (I'm not picky). But what do I know, I only have several trophies for sound quality in competitions hanging around my place.🤔🤷🏽‍♂️🫵🏽🍾🥂

True, lower Ohms equals less resistance, so the amp push more power, I have 4 of the 6" DS18 10th Anniversary and at 8 Ohms you're not going to give the speaker the 250w RMS on a 4 channel amp.

​@ChrisAzure That's INCORRECT I DO & HAVE & WILL continue giving the intire 250wrms to mine using my DS18 250wrms×4 amp. It's rated for it so why not use it. The complication is that many people don't know EXACTLY how to use equalizers & when it comes to these particular speakers for instance, the "eq" gets used incorrectly. Flatten the eq, adjust the amp... then flatten that eq curve & readjust the amp again. It's a bit of work, but 100% worth it. No gimmicks. It's the same considerations as a TIME ALIGNMENT. A real time alignment. RTA. 250wrms or bust.

@@armonnykelley1838 I was complementing your comment but if you look at the spec sheets, you'll see at what Ohms you're getting those 250W RMS and I can guarantee you that it won't be at 8 Ohms on a 250w RMS x4. As an example, the DS18 ZXI.4XL can output 250w RMS at 4 Ohms, if your speakers are 4 Ohms then yeah, you're giving them those 250w RMS to your 4 speakers, but if your speaker are 8 Ohms you are not giving them those 250w RMS, to make it more clear, with the mentioned amp if you manage to lower your Ohms load to 2 Ohms then the amp output increase to 400w RMS x4, hopefully that clarifies what I meant, which is basically saying that you're right, comparing a 4 Ohms speaker vs an 8 Ohms speaker is not apples to apples when the goal is to know which are louder because the 4 Ohms speaker will get more power from the amp, unless you are using something like a Marts Digital MXS-4000x4-2 which at 4 Ohms can deliver 800w RMS x4, rest assure that you'll get more than 250w RMS at 8 Ohms. Higher Ohms speaker = Less power from the amp.
