Love that spot, I think all your van life audience/fans will be noting it down. Bet it would be different if the wind was up though! Your drone shots always inspire us Ken, so much so that we have stepped out of our fear camp and got ours up in the air finally! So thank you for that. Also, love the half a tube of pringles before the full plate of nachos, life is for living! Peace and love to you both 🙏💚

Great to hear you have started flying the drone. Whenever you get the chance fly it not necessarily to film but just to burn those control movements into muscle memory as it really pays dividends when things go wrong. Biggest tip I can give you is to decide what you want to film and from what angle/height before you take off. Fly in straight lines or gentle curves and treat the drone more like a giant tripod in the sky. It’s perfect for getting you both in the shot both near and far and I often use it as my primary camera on a walk. Make sure you record a nice long bit of audio from the place to use as a background and Bob’s your uncle 😁👍

I loved the beautiful colours in the scrub land around the lighthouse there. I always preferred to find that kind of a parkup back in the day. In a little area near to southwell I was woken up in the morning by thumping noises. When I looked out the camper was surrounded by Rabbits. The ground was quite sort of solid but also resonant and they were all hopping about at five in the morning. I made a cup of tea and sat on the bed with the Transit's sliding door open watching them. They didn't scarper until after breakfast when I started the engine to move off. Carol's Nachos made me peckish so going in the kitchen to find the remains of the bag of mini Popaddums from teatimes Curry.

As others have said (including one who I think is a cousin! The Isle of Man used to be like that, I had some 7 or 8 cousins in my year when I started at the Grammar School in Ramsey) that there are ruins of the brine pumping station at the Point of Ayre. Further though, there was a works in Ramsey around where the shipyard is, and the brine was also used in the Grand Island Hotel (formerly a "hydro") that used to dominate the north end of the prom where you parked and once offered treatments. I worked at that hotel in the bar, by which time it was old and leaky and was stumbling along financially. Incidentally, the shipyard in Ramsey, which you will have seen, built the oldest seagoing sailing ship in the world, the "Star of India", built in Ramsey in 1863 as the "Euterpe" - there a plaque on the quayside telling you about it. Incidentally, I was parked at the Point of Ayre one day, enjoying the peace and quiet, when an army wagon rolled up, uncoupled a 105mm gun and starting firing (hopefully blanks) towards Scotland, before leaving with no explanation. There used to be a camp for Territorials at Jurby, but this was after that had closed, so I don't know what it was all about

Wonderful vlog as always, my husband and I eagerly await you’re uploads, when there aren’t ant new ones, we have been going back through you’re older playlists. It’s become a perfect end to a day, thank you both so much! Ken, you do make us giggle with you’re enthusiastic hmmmmm mmmmmm’s when eating 🍽 We are in the market for a camper ourselves, having been caravanners before, we feel a bit anxious about losing the luxury of a loo 😊. We are both a bit covid anxious, due to health conditions, so wouldn’t be comfortable using public loos🤭. This is proving a sticking point, as we love the idea of a smaller camper, for all the reasons you mention 🤔. Btw do you know that the opening titles music you use, is now being played on an advert for insurance from the co op 😎 stay safe both and thank you so much, for keeping us entertained 😎 xx
@LifeistooshortCK3 жыл бұрын
Wild camping is excellent if you are covid anxious as its very easy to limit your contact with others. We manage great without a proper chemical toilet but understand that it is not for everyone. If people need the loo during the night then our setup won’t work well at all due to lack of space. The next van size up gives you loads of options though. Without a doubt being small makes the touring quite stress free as we never worry about narrow roads, height barriers or not finding a place to spend the night. As you may know we went from a fairly big comfy new van straight to the tiny NV200. Big risk as we didn’t know if we could do it but the risk paid off for us. If you are unsure then maybe hire one to see if its for you. Didn’t know the Co op are using the same music 😁👍

Thank you soo much for your traveling videos. With what is going here in the un-united states they are a real treat. Curious what the cradles were for at the fog horn tower.

Hi Duane, the world is going mad at the moment. I don’t know what those cradles were for but I am guessing one was for a fuel tank and the other a generator to drive the foghorn. ?
