This game was depressing, you are walking over a destroyed ecosystem because of human activity, walking over notes of children who say they miss the sun, music, fresh bread. I know this is a late comment to an old video, but I felt like I was chasing shadows, and this game messed with my head for a few days. As you traverse the dead landscape you are receiving messages from an interview you had 15 years ago as you beat the speed of the transmission to the planet. Hearing the soviet national anthem in the laboratory, had an almost melancholy feel to it. You are hearing human music so far out in the void. after it ended, it made the silence, feel more silent. While the gameplay was lackluster, I definitely think the creator has things to be proud of. If it had more mechanics to it, I would have played it again, and again and again. multiplayer maybe, more freedom, maybe a survival system like Minecraft Idk just ideas. It is a shame that this brilliant Idea had to be almost wasted on such a simple bland concept of gameplay. ending left me dead inside, there was no closure you got no answers from the girl she just basically killed herself at the end to save the planet. you return to earth hundreds of years into the future where once again you have to adapt to a new environment and make new friends in a society that has probably forgotten you.

In my case it was oddly the opposite. I felt a really deep loneliness as you mention, but I also had a very comforting feeling of knowing that "no matter what, I'll survive and get to safety". The environment was very awe inspiring the whole time, even if often it was filled with loneliness, a certain "void" and sorrow, but that's why I appreciated the game mechanics being so simple, it allowed me to "witness" and "see", an environment that for all we know, something very similar to it may exist out there... On top of it, I lost not one, but two of my dear pets precisely while I was playing it (on different days for different reasons, but just a few days apart), and couldn't bring them to the vet because of how the pandemic has affected my country and personal life... And man I felt so incredibly sad, and still do. But somehow in that loneliness and sadness, I felt like playing this game made me feel identified with the character, and I really felt and thought that "I'm gonna make it". The main protagonist may go back to a world that is now "alien" for him, but he had precisely left to an even more alien world because he "had nothing left". Even then, Earth was still his homeworld. I feel like somehow I'll also overcome my current difficult situation and get through, even if the world isn't the same as it used to be. "I've made it so far, I can make it further to the end even if it's difficult and often overwhelming". Well, that's how I felt... Have a good day!

Dude they are making a game called Lifeless Moon, it is said to release next year, it contains more stuff, I played this game as a kid and it was kept as a faint memory, I rediscovered it on Epic games and man oh man it brought me all the nostalgic memories. There is nothing to explore and do except go forward and jump. I managed to break the game right in the beginning when the game starts. I didnt go straight forward, I went right to the mountains to take a look where I should go. When I realised that the mountains are map edge and I cant go there I went to the left when suddently oxygen got low, I take the straight path to the oxygen refil but died few centimetres from it. And that is only because I didnt go straight in the beginning. There is no freedom in anything, no managing resources everything is scripted, no need to explore and no way to explore the world. Just go as authors wanted you to. No other direction no other nothing. And this game could have had so much potential....

When the soundtrack and the desolate landscapes synch to create an unnerving atmosphere, this game is pretty enjoyable. The storyline had a compelling revelation, not quite sure if the female alien character was really necessary though, that's my only gripe with this game. And at times, also the clunky and imprecise controls.

It would be more fun if it was open world or if there were any fight, making shelter to hide from storms or something like that. But it is really dark game. Not the best graphics, but story and all those notes that can be found are really dark and actually shows real human nature and what is going to happen to Earth if we continue to destroy it like we do now. ..

The woman was experimented on by the Russians in order to stop the planet from dying, this is why she has the power to survive with no oxygen and make moss grow where she walks. The ending is basically her merging with the planet's lifeforms to make the planet green again and save all living things on it, afterwards the player makes it home to Earth and the satellite turning back on the foreign planet is probably meant to show that she is still alive and trying to send a message telling that to the player.
