Keep in mind, Etika has a unique title in KFAD. He is the ONLY person to ever defeat a character that would go on to be king. KFAD1 was single-elimination, so obviously Hypercam never lost, and he didn't return as a fighter in KFAD2. Meanwhile, DJPK was undefeated in KFAD2, but lost to Etika in KFAD1. Etika is the only person to date to triumph over someone who would become a king. And that is awesome.

I'm not too informed, but you need to check a bridge for an abandoned Nintendo Switch, charge it with the power of Hype, and then use it on a grave near a church. You are then bathed in god rays and are asked a series of questions, of which I dont know what they are. If you answer correctly Etika descends from the heavens to reclaim his Switch and do battle with you.

I come back to this to think about all of the stuff Etika missed out on, the good times the fans and community never got to share and celebrate with him. That his girls of Min Min, Pyra, and Mythra made it into Smash. The sequel to Breath of the Wild is so close to coming out. Sakurai making a KZbin channel. Fire Emblem Engage with all of the fun he would have had there. The true impact that he'd have on everyone, even while gone. Luckily he never had to see some of the horrible stuff the world as a whole went through in the years since he left, but I know he would have made it better for some through those times. He maybe shouldn't have had to have that responsibility, it's what got him into the mindset that ended up hurting him, where no one was able or willing to give him the help he showed others. We miss you Etika, and thank you for giving us a damn great time.

i didn't care much when i saw there was a lifelight rip, but i was confused about who the thumbnail character was and thought it'd be a joke contestant or something...... then the silhouette actually became clear and it hit me like a truck i'm so glad this exists, and if it were the last video of the tournament i'd be completely happy with that - i don't think there'd be a better way to end this entire event than to pay respect to not just the only veteran not to make it back, but a guy who was such a huge part of the entire kind of internet culture most of us are part of i really hope etika'd be happy knowing the tributes people have made in celebration of him and all the good memories he gave us, he deserves every bit of it #JoyConBoiz4Ever

I wasn't a fan of Etika but I respect what he did, and I respect that he made so many people happy doing that. I hope that his loss has helped to shed light on the issues we face in our society with mental issues, and how they're just as important to deal with as physical issues. Rest in peace Etika, you beautiful joycon boy.
