I would just like to add some lore to the evolution of this meme/song. The guy who sang the original diggy diggy hole song in the first video used a ‘welsh’ accent. Wales is a mountainous part of the United Kingdom where historically the men would work as coal miners, so if you are British and want to impersonate a dwarf you would naturally use a ‘welsh’ accent.

What makes this legendary is that you know “Diggy diggy hole” was created by the elves as a means to belittle the dwarfs. But much like the colonialists with “Yankee Doodle Dandy”, the dwarfs took it and ran with it. The two later versions of Diggy Diggy Hole had me humming that tune all day and night. Turned what was a lacklustre song to begin with and made it into a theme for fantasy movies and board games involving dwarves. They gave the song more respectability in later years. Very interesting history.

How......how the hell did i never realize that this damn cultural explosion started on my 18th birthday?!?!?! I remember seeing the Dwarf Hole remix the year it was posted, it was the single song that started my journey of becoming a major fan of Mine Craft music! From I Came To Dig, I Just Found Diamonds, No Life Minecraft Life, Screw The Nether, Revenge, Creeper Gonna Explode Us Tonight, Don't Mine At Night, and YES even the Fallen Kingdom saga! I even rediscovered this song through WindRose 10 years later! And all of this, from a shitpost that a small group of friends did because they were genuinely enjoying a sinple sandbox game and having a wonderful time! Man its just insane to me how this song has started so much for me, I still find myself coming back to these old songs because i grew up with them all and i genuinely loved MineCraft back then, I still do just not the biggest fan of the community. But evry fandom has their bad eggs and that makes me really sad. Either way thanks to YOGS Cast for being my sort of "Butterfly Effect" because if it wasnt for this song I wouldnt be screaming "CREEPER AWWWW MAN!" at the top of my lungs with my friends and starting the shit posting in Twitch Chats. This song was the domino that made me slip into a niche community that I can bring others together in sweet nostalgic unison.
