Maybe it's because I'm in the last phase of my life or maybe it's because I was born and raised in the northwest and it is such a part of me, but what you show me reaches into my heart and soul. Usually it elicits a very emotional response. It seems to be a more prevalent response now than when I was a young man. You take me to these places because of your determination, stamina and physical condition and it becomes personal - the shock of diving into an ice cold lake- the magnificent peaks and "layers" of mountains - the camaraderie of friends - the devoted bond between a man and his dog. All this is good therapy for us all and Luke, I say thank you.

Much appreciated Pete, I'm glad you notice all the same factors that I love of the mountains and PNW! I'm sure you are also reminiscing on your own experiences in the mountains.

Nice vid. I've been to the upper lake twice but not up to the peak. Looks fantastic especially during the early morning light. I'm always leery about leaving my vehicle in that parking lot, especially overnight, since cars have been vandalized. About sasquatches. I've been up Chilliwack Valley about 200 times since I moved here and haven't seen any. I solo hike quietly and wander off into the bush a lot. So far, no evidence of any.....yet.

If you are still in the valley you could make a push for Widgeon either from the Burk ridge or the shorter way from widgeon marsh. Also widgeon lake is in the area too. As usual a fantastic vid with amazing views of the upper cascade mountains. awesome work

How was it for the dog on the steep scrambles?! I wanna bring my boy when I go

If I remember correctly, most of it wasn't that steep and my dog didn't need much help at all. I might have boosted her once or twice

Hey great vid been wanting to do this hike as an overnighter. What time of year did you do this hike? I hate mosquitoes 😮
@lifeofluke Жыл бұрын
This was in July. If you don't like mosquitoes, better go up there in winter, because bugs are just part of being in the mountains in summer.
