Wow, what a back story. Oz to Canada in a 25' boat with just 3 stops!! The mention of the Tophat brought back many memories. A friend's father had built a Tophat 25 from the moldings, which inspired me to build my first keel boat, a Compass 25 from the moldings. The 1260 is certainly a beautiful boat, many innovations.

Wow, they have been around the world sailing. What a great life and they are still young. What have I done, beyond stuck in education for almost a 3rd of my life and work. Good interview.

Hey guys, what a great night I had with Al and Cindy the other night. So nice to hear the stories about sailing the Pacific and have a laugh. I hope you enjoy this chat , there is some great info here on sailing and the realities of life on board. Check out the link in the description to get involved and contact Al and Cindy for an experience of a lifetime on this sensational catamaran. Apologies for my phone hunting for focus as we get excited and speak with our hands and the boat moving on the mooring had an effect as well. All the best Rossco

Love love love this dialogue and theme. Enjoyed every second. Thanks so much for sharing. We are hoping to move forward with the same plans just cutting the lines... scared sh I T LESS but as Mark Twain said ...... “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

In the Netherlands you get a whole module on your sail licence ⬅[which is mandatory by law] on reading maps and basic navigation. That's before the rest.

Hello. Could you give or sell catamaran drawings? I would also like to make a catamaran.
@brianbuchanan51705 жыл бұрын
There are several designers who sell their catamaran plans. Generally, each purchase is a license to produce one boat. It’s possible to purchase a license for production runs but those are significantly more expensive. My understanding is Rossco is building a Grainger designed boat, with the molds coming from a production license. Once he’s done someone else could produce another boat from these molds.
@prongati5 жыл бұрын
@@brianbuchanan5170 If it's not a secret how much the Catamaran design cost? Or did you take the finished form for the manufacture of the catamaran? How much did this form cost then? I would also like to make a catamaran or a trimaran for myself, or maybe I will make 1 for myself and 1 for sale in order to earn money from this.
@brianbuchanan51705 жыл бұрын
I’m 8 years away from ordering my kit, or more likely bare hull and doing the interior work myself. Plan prices depends on the size, in part due to ongoing support from the designer during construction. Schionning posts their prices, www.schionningdesigns.com.au/construction-plans
