Pretty fancy case when compared to the plain metal case that this is replacing. I hate how long this video is. But there is quite a bit to cover. -Marky

Have you traveled with the case yet? I travel with a full size 2011 with optic also, and I'm wondering what you fit in there. At a minimum, I'd like to be able to fit the gun, two 126mm mags and a box of 50rds or 2 smaller boxes of 20. Can you do that with your Wilson?
@John1911 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I have travelled with it. Works great. But…the X9L isn’t a 2011 thus is slightly smaller. So I don’t think you’re gonna get all those boxes in there. Regards, Marky

@@John1911 I wasn't completely accurate with the "full-size" description. Mine is 4.6" barrel. Can you fit a couple mags and a box of ammo with your X9?
@John1911 Жыл бұрын
I think a box of ammo would be tough with the rest in there. Unfortunately we are in the middle of major range building construction so the armory is all packed up. I don’t have access to the box right now. If I did, I would check. Marky

@@John1911 How are the buttons by the way? ever not respond as they should, or have to retype passcode? I have no idea why they went with electronic buttons rather than rugged tactile buttons. especially for a heavy duty product like this. Maybe I'm underestimating the touch sensors.

Its illegal for tsa to have access to you firearm. “The owner shall retain the key or combination”
@John19112 жыл бұрын
1. You are correct. 2. You have quoted it. 3. It has been my experience that dealing with TSA, checking firearms, flying with different carriers and even flying into different airports; things change from place to place. Sometimes from agent, to agent and shift to shift. Next, someone is going to come along and suggest I keep a copy of the regs and quote them chapter and verse when things go sideways. Which I have done. One time to the point of it getting VERY heated. Which is a slow-walk to getting detained. That solves nothing. So…here is how I handle it now. I stay cool. I know the regs. If needed, I cite them chapter & verse. Calmly and in a friendly manner. Sometimes the person / people I am interfacing with simply don’t know how to handle firearms. And after that, I give them my Traveling with Firearms Miranda Warning. “It’s your airport and your rules. You have the badge and the gun. I will do what you ask, just understand everything happening now is on security video, and if my firearms get lost or stolen, we’ll handle it administratively”. Regards, Marky

Good luck with the new case. I have heard others using it with no problems. But like you said you will find that one guy to mess everything up. The length of the video is fine. It's all useful information. Wait I wasn't goofy in this comment. I'll have to fix that next time. HAHAHA Stay safe. Take care. Have fun. 😎

You mentioned you can only use the key to unlock, but not lock it. When you tried locking the box with the key, the box was open…did you try closing the box and locking it with the key? Not trying to be rude or anything, I’m just curious if you figured out if that’s possible.
@John19112 жыл бұрын
I don’t have it in front of me, but I recall it would not lock mechanically. Only electronically. If that makes sense. -Marky
