On April 19, 1990, I received a donor liver. I was a young mother of four. The youngest 18 months old. I was dying from a rare form of cancer and my transplant was the last hope I had. It worked. Because of my donor, I was able to raise my four babies and now I’m watching my grand babies grow. There is hardly a day that goes by that I don’t think about my donor and the second chance at life she gave me. God bless your family as you grieve your loss. Heaven has another hero angel.

My husband and I are both organ donars. We both are being cremated and if our organs can give someone else a chance then let that be our gift to them. We have a friend who had 2 kidney transplants and one who had a double lung transplant. We both know that when we die our souls are at rest and if the Lord has not returned by the time we pass, it will only be a matter of time before we are knit with bones, muscles, sinews, and for God to breathe life back into us to return with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in His army. In September 2004, my dad received a pancreas transplant. We were so grateful to the young man and his family who gave us many more years with my dad and my kids’ Papa. I thought about it frequently that to pray and hope for a pancreas, we were praying and hoping someone would die. That bothered me. Then in September 2018, my brother donated his pancreas and corneas. I think he would have been proud to give what our dad received. I’ve been on both sides and organ donation is a beautiful gift to give and to receive. I love knowing that a part of my brother is still alive today.

There is also religions and certain people who dont believe in "cutting" the body open and/or removing organs. Peggy Kometzke, thumbs down does not necessarily mean they don't like the video. It can simply mean that they are sad and don't like the fact that this wonderful young lady passed away. You could interpret thumbs up as a sign of happiness and carelessness but we all know that's not why people are liking this video. I guess I just want to say that it is difficult to express your feelings if you have only this two symbols to choose from.

@@crmwilliams5116 Yep. So, I didnt have enough bone on the roof of my mouth to protect my sinuses, or hold implants. I received donor bone that was implanted under the flesh on the roof of my mouth. After I was discharged from the hospital, I was going through all my papers & I found a letter that had a return envelope attached, with a bar code where the return address usually goes. The letter explained I had received some bone from a donor, & that although the donors identity would remain confidential, that I was welcome to write a letter to the donors family (if I wanted) & say thank you & whatever else I felt appropriate. It was strange because I knew I was getting "cadaver bone" long before the actual surgery, but it selfishly never even crossed my mind that the bone they were implanting, actually came from a previously living, breathing person. I hadnt really thought about where the bone was coming from, but I remember thinking it was maybe from an animal. Anyway, sorry for babbling lmao
