Desirae passed away on May 20th 2023. Before she left this earth, she had one more thing to complete. She was an Organ Donor and donated her organs through The Gift Of Life. She Lives on through her selfless act of her gifts so that other may live.

Its only been two months but i'm sure it feels much much longer. I could see by your reaction when they were to take her and close the doors of the med van, you didn't want to let go. That's ok, no mother would want to let go. I'm sure every minute without her feels like an eternity. It's so very hard to see, but she does still live. In you. The vibrant years she gave you are not gone, they will always remain. And if she could talk to you one more time, I know she would say, you can do this. It will take time but know she will always be there in you. I pray for peace for you, Linda.

Out of respect for the loss and the sacrifice, I watch Honor Walks. This Honor Walk was heartbreaking yet beautiful. Watching the young woman carried into the ambulance and watching it take her away had to be the hardest blow to her Mom.

My sister-in-law was on the transplant list for a liver, and it was so difficult to pray for a liver when we knew the price that would be paid by others would be the most difficult imaginable. Unfortunately, my sister-in-law failed before a liver was found and we lost her in 2021. God bless all the donors and their families; I hope that this family had discussed organ donation prior to this and they were at peace knowing they were carrying out her wishes.

A comforting scripture for myself has been John 5:28,29 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. That whole chapter is comforting to read. I hope this helps you as well as it does millions of others.

My most heartfelt sympathy to the family, but especially to the mother, I was sobbing with her. It's been many decades now; I lost my stepson to gun violence. As hard as that day was on me, what it did to his mother was on another level and heart wrenching. Watching your grief brought that day back hard.
