Trying to think of an outlandish response to the slide question. Ideas like “build an attic” or “build a basement” don’t have the panache we’re looking for in a typical CTW comment. That said…catch the trend and build a small room on the slide and AirBnB it. That.sounds.fantastic

My couch and driver’s seat pleather peals like crazy. I am removing the couch and replacing with recliners. I am also getting rid of the dinette. I am getting a piece of wood with a nice grain that can be finished nicely show off the grain and add cup holders. I will use as a desk, mount my turntable, and use as a place to eat. I am getting rid of all of the shades and valances and putting in designer shades of which the two big windows the shades will be electric.

I just did a defrost a couple days ago, my "Hot Tip" is a heat gun, I carry a cheap harbor freight heat gun for electrical shrink tubing, (im a tinkerer so i have stuff others may not) but we just unloaded the fridge onto the counter, took about 10 min. to do the fridge and about the same for the freezer, and it was pretty bad, way worse than yours looked,, but the heat gun warmed the aluminum fins, and i just set the ice chunks in a dish pan as I went along.

We have the 2500RL setup with the theater seating: My wife likes (must have) a dedicated place to eat meals so we've kept the dinette. However, when I'm working, I need a dual monitor (laptop + 23"wide display) desk setup that doesn't interfere or constantly need to be removed from the dinette table. So I found a small collapsing table (Mainstays 40" x 20" with height adjustable legs $40) at Wal-Mart that I use with the theater seat/sofa. When I'm working I'm usually at the laptop for better part of the day and the setup has proven comfortable with an added wireless KB/mouse. Also, if you want to use the collapsing dinette table as a 2nd bed, you must reinforce the tabletop or you'll bend the table frame (ask me how I know). I made some reinforcement legs that support both sides of the table top that easily stow in the bench dinette seats and those create internal storage dividers as a bonus. Hope it helps!

we just traded our love seat (we kept the recliners; they are flex steel and the fabric seems quite durable) for a double trash/recycling can drawer and a 2-door cabinet. It's working very well and houses the Starlink box perfectly. :) Maybe a short cabinet with a giant counter top would give you storage and dine/work seating? Also, LoveSac is pricey, but super nice...and you can rearrange the pieces as your needs change. Good luck!

Khali thinks the dinette should be replaced with a nice plush bed for her. On the side would be a basket for her toys and a buffet next to that. The whole thing could have storage underneath for her supply of Greenies. Oh yeah, did you guys try the blueberry Greenies yet? On the human side of things, I don't think there's any way to be more guest-friendly than a table/dinette there for more chairs to go around. I'm picturing in my mind a desk that's sort of a board coming out from the wall in the middle of the available space that would allow you to put monitors or laptops back to back, but when you need it to, you could add some kind of leaf extensions to the sides to convert the desk into a wider table, but I'm sure my mind is playing tricks on me and the space just isn't big enough to do something like that. Not trying to talk you into or out of anything, but the three of you live in that space a lot more than you would ever have guests there even if you had the perfect layout for it, so in my opinion, it should work and function like the full time living space that it is. Folding tables and chairs are a thing and you could temporarily set some up inside if you needed to, but also outside. I picture a sort of screen tent that attaches to your awning, like three pieces of bug-proof mesh that drop down from the sides of your awning and zip into each other and maybe velcro to the side of your camper to make an outdoor living room for entertaining (with the previously mentioned folding table and chairs) when the weather permits, and when it doesn't, deploy the folding table and chairs as possible. Sorry, I don't have anything better than that.

@@lifererouted Kinda funny how we don't have our rig yet, but we're going through the same thought processes... A nice rear living unit would be neat with three couches, but... we wouldn't use two of them most of the time because Pup would have his own rug in front of the theater seat, so we'd be wasting so much space and money on stuff we could make better use of. We could get by with much less trailer and truck if we allow ourselves to. I totally get it though, just because you had the "perfect" setup with the desk and all, doesn't mean you can't get restless with things staying the same for so long and just NEED to change something to keep from going insane. Variety is the spice of life and all that. Should you ever feel the need, blueberry Greenies can be ordered shipped from Petsmart or Amazon...

Pro tip for the frost build up in the freezer. Put some of those thin plastic cutting boards against the back wall....you can cut them so they fit snug. Then all you have to do is pull the plastic cutting board away from the wall and the frost will come down with it. As for how to setup your inside space.....I would plan on eating outside if you have company over and do what works best for you 2 on the inside.

We're hoping whatever we do has that more finished look to it! But seriously considering that hot tub too 😂😂😂 Thanks Dan!

GO BEARS (former Illinois resident) Here is an idea for your future slide out area, add there a sleeper sectional, 3-seat, you'll get nice look, more storage and 2 adult sleeps. If you still have room you could add a coffee table or night table with a nice table lamp... Phil Here is an example : HOLMSUND Sleeper at Ikea: www.ikea.com/us/en/p/holmsund-sleeper-sectional-3-seat-nordvalla-beige-s89150755/

🐻🔽 I like the lamp idea! We're still struggling with finding something that fits that space just right

🤣 Right?! No, I've seen people with them before. Do they really help that much?

@@lifererouted We have a rechargeable one that really doesn't seem to do much. It might be too small but I really don't want to spend more $ on something that doesn't have a benefit.

I was just about to comment about the placemat when you pulled it out!!! 😂 I saw someone do that and it worked great except they waited a bit long between defrosts and they said it was hard to get started. 😂

Haha we've said we were going to do it for a long time and just never have! Oh good to know about leaving it too long - that was my concern that it would just get completely frozen to the back 😂 Thank you!

we love our original booth, it could be a few inches wider or the table a little narrower, otherwise what about a long sectional? or a treadmill or standing desk, not that either of you need it, but Clark Howard Loves his on his radio show.

Ooohh hadn't thought about the standing desk, that could be handy! Thanks Scott!
