LifeSaver® Jerrycan - How To Clean

This video walks you through our recommended cleaning process for the LifeSaver® Jerrycan. We suggest regular cleaning of your Jerrycan, as this will ensure you are getting the best performance from your product. Cleaning should restore flow rate and help prevent your Ultrafiltration Cartridge blocking up prematurely.

Was checking out how to clean water cooler 5 gallon jug. Add a handful of rocksalt (could probably use an old grinder of coarse salt that needs to be broken out) and add a bit of water to move it around while shake! Shake! Shaking! Not sure if this application would be recommended here due to the sensitivity of filter. Although, it seems like removing the components and plugging the holes, with a couple clean face towels/T-shirts/Racketballs(?), would be of benefit.

Answer the previous question, please. Do we need to clean the inside of the can as well?

I wasn't aware of needing to leave water in the can during storage. How bad is it that the filter dried out?

If your filter has dried out the membranes will have irreversibly closed up. This means they won't allow water through anymore. You would need to replace the filter cartridge if this is the case. Thanks

What is the best way to store it if there is a chance of freezing? Such as it being stored in a garage?
