Actually, they ARE working on that. Remember the RX-78-2 Gundam they took down? Well, they are actually hiring engineers from across the globe in a bid to create a fully functioning mobile suit to be rolled out around the time of the Japanese 2020 Summer Olympics. Imagine how epic the opening ceremony would be if a fucking Gundam appeared and walked forward, and used its arms to ignite the torch itself.

I remember back in highschool in 1999. the Gundam project. So its close now... The age of titans is upon us just like the stiry in Xenogears PS1... THEY were for pure amusement... Then armed for military.. Merely statues of art.... Then militarized... The Gear aka gundam aka Core. So they build armor mecha and display the shells in broad daylight.. @@enginepy Well, if we're gonna be realistic here. Of course, what we see in Anime, is a reality we will most likely never achieve. We might manage to make a thing like that, walk, but wouldn't be very efficient. Physics for a robot of this size to move around, is very unlikely to function with the animated idea. I mean, look at how these mecha machines move around, on ground, in space and so on. I mean, they move fast. It is very unlikely that we will manage to create something like that. It is still pretty awesome none the less:)

You have to take into account that a anime accurate fully transforming Unicorn would require complex mechanics for the transformation of the leg and torso section. The transformation would not only increase the height from 18 to 21 meters but also change the general shape of the torso and leg section, and thats not an easy feat
