@vanisupra92455 жыл бұрын
Chinmayee Mj fact of the matter is no one is madrasi now or all South Indians are madrasi. Madras province then included most of the south India. In a way North Indians are rht to refer south Indians as madrasi. Another point is that there is no madras now. It's all gone. All South Indians have their own linguistic identities. The problem here is everyone else want to run away and this tamils are alone left to carry these titles such as madrasi. I don't think this has anything to do with Tamils either. Btw I don't understand what is so wrong with this "madrasi" thing to hate this much. It's an old identity of south India. That's it. It's up to you to carry not to carry. But I hate to see when other South Indians showing that aversion.

Even we Tamils feel insulted when we are called as Madrasi. Madras was a name of a city. When British came to chennai, they called it Madras. @Poly Glot seriously?? Then what about english... you guys have a strong slang in english... i have so many friends from delhi and they used to have a strong slang... malayalies speak better hindi. @gaming73113 жыл бұрын
It's a stereotype.. Those who don't know about South Indian culture they use madrasi word for all South indians. Madras is vey popular since british time that's why. They don't mean to hurt Or insult. So take it easy
