This movie is hilarious and clearly just awful, and one of the funniest parts is that I can see my child self being scared sh!tless by it. I loved horror but the concept of spooky dolls, aka Chucky, permeated by childhood for some reason. Literally the only Lifetime movie I actually have interest in watching now. The scene with it struggling out of the fireplace was 10/10. The janky FX, doll design, Giggo search, and lunacy of the plot are too good. Well done, Lifetime. Would watch as a kid, then lose it upon seeing it again as an adult.

@@jane-mulcahy oh my God, thank you so much - she was well-loved, I always called her my "baby kitten" because she treated me as a substitute mom, even when she was 14 years old. She suddenly deteriorated within days, and she was also the only cat that died in my home. My mom's dog guarded her all night and didn't move an inch all night to make sure she wouldn't pass alone. I still can't get to terms with not having been by her side in her last moment, it feels as though I failed her... Sorry for over-sharing, it's just all too much for me and I still hear and see her all the time (like the sound of her claws on the floor or her meows or her black-amd-white fur at the brink of my vision)..

My favorite tiny killer doll movie also has a misleading title (and cover), but technically it does happen in the plot: "My Teacher Ate My Homework." From what I remember, it was part of a failed book-to-film series adaptation called "The Shadow Zone." I rented it so often as a kid and later bought the VHS from my local Hollywood Video when it closed. A few years back, my friend delighted me with the only other Shadow Zone movie he could find. Anyway, "My Teacher Ate My Homework" used to scare the fuck out of me lol. Like all the best doll movies, it has an excellent setup and payoff for when you finally see the doll move. And we even see Shelley Duvall make one of her unexpected and niche appearances. Imo truly a buried treasure in the genre of family-friendly horror.
