@monicagrace953614 сағат бұрын
1:36:15 Actually I believe the first person he dates after Abby is Ali, one of the people him and Eddie saved in the earthquake. He bought his current apartment with her and they broke up after his leg got crushed. Unfortunately I do not remember the order of his casual relationship with Taylor and his relationship with Ali. (I think he was initially casual with Taylor, then he dated Ali, then dated Taylor after him and Ali broke up?) However, Buck and Ali were extremely short lived and makes sense to be forgotten about. You basically never see their relationship on screen.

I like Buddie, I do. It’s a cute ship. Just don’t really buy it on Eddie’s part. Based on what we’ve seen of Buck so far, I can totally buy him being in love with Eddie. I’m just not sure on the reverse. But maybe Eddie’s catholic guilt is just clouding his emotions. (Editing to say Jane actually makes a very strong case for a gay Eddie. Guess it’s time to go all in on Buddie.)

As a British person that’s never heard Oliver Stark speak in real life, I think he’s putting that accent on. Anything other than Buck’s voice and accent does not compute.

Ha! This makes me appreciate season 8 breaking the fourth wall so readily. It was the only way to go! Now see, to me, the biggest running joke is not the Chimney mystery. I wanna know why they always seem to wash and DRY dishes only to put BACK on the drying rack! (See Bobby when May walks in with her dress and Eddie when trying to deny fake Shannon to Buck.) But seriously, the lack of continuity sometimes kills me. For example, Hen says she joined paramedics because of being saved after a shooting or some such thing. However, later we find out it was after she saved her life coach's life? Was Hen just lying to the reporter (which ok sure)? Same with Athena. She initially tells Hen she was inspired by her neighbour's kidnapping to become a cop. (Points for returning to that plotline.) But they then retconned that by establishing Emmett as well as her having been on her way to law school before he inspired her. I think Bobby is the only one who is consistent (tho I hate how a character like his sponsor was introduced only to be killed instead of building him up first. It was very difficult to feel for Bobby when we'd barely ever heard of his sponsor before.) 100% yes the entire copaganda is very disappointing, illogical, and infuriating. Makes me sad Angela Bassett is the one doing the thing.

I recently found you from 911 video, and I'm obsessed, I've watched all your videos. You're very funny in a satirical way, very thorough in how you dive in to fan culture as well as the purely the text like other commentary creators I enjoy, which I very much appreciate as someone who is deep in to fan cultures, and your videos are always very well presented

*PLEASE* do one of these for The Rookie! I would love your take on that show. Also, I have noticed Peter's resting smirking face bc of this video. Since this is a Ryan Murphy show, I'm not shocked by the unnecessary cheating given the sheer amount Glee had of it throughout S1-5 (never watched S6 bc of how bad S5 was). According to 6×15, Shannon's birthday is 10/16/1992. She wasn't even *TWENTY* when Christopher was born so yeah, I don't blame her for how she acted given that she was raising a disabled child in her early 20s *ALONE* Even though I ship Buddie, Shannon was absolutely done dirty and the misogyny she faced was just gross imo Absolutely agree with you on Season 7! Easily the worst season of the show, for sure needed more 911 calls and the Kim storyline was just 🤮 Eddie is definitely the least developed main character and it's a shame.

rewatching season 3 and OH I SEE THE POINTS ABOUT EDDIE YOU MADE. like, at certain moments he's SO insufferable. "Eddie I don't need a provider I need a partner" Shannon, you're so right about that. but he just keeps on pushing the "I'm the hero here I'm the one sacrificing myself" agenda. dude. you could have gotten literally ANY job and still be able to provide, that's what normal people do. but I gotta give him that he defends her Infront of his parents (who, if I might just add, hate from the bottom of my heart. none of them ever sit right with me. they really do seem way too happy about taking Chris to El Paso, and I'm sorry but you don't even call your son a Dan of your FOURTEEN YEAR OLD grand son to let him know you're flying to LA to take your son away. like. fvck u.) anyways ever since you talked about Eddie not being written with two too many thoughts, I can't unsee.

The Wrong Mommy has an alternate ending. If you watch the movie on Tubi, it ends with the wrong mommy ending up in a mental health facility where a doctor is asking her questions, and once he brings up his 6 year old daughter, she asks him "Is she pretty?" and "Does she need a mommy?" and the movie ends.

1:07:31 the "jinks" is a real thing cause I have family friends who work in the medical field(nurse, cop, etc.), retail, and such and 99.99% of the time saying quiet, ends with either you getting all sort of people in the hospital(the aggressive drunks, the medical mystery, etc), or the worst type of customer. Even more on full moon for medical professional, I've heard and seen it, it's real, and one way to make enemy. You don't even say word like calm, slow, peaceful, etc. basically you play "say the opposite of what you mean", that's why my go to that I learn from my mom who used to work retail is "I hope you have a safe day/week/year" cause it's doesn't do harm.

I got into teen wolf (and sterek) through fanfic first. When I finally watched the show, I was shocked at how little they actually interacted. They barely even share a scene in season 3 - the most stiles-centric season. Derek always felt more like someone’s big brother to me than a random adult. Idk why they were so weird about the fire timeline and Derek’s age…maybe so it wouldn’t be as weird for Derek to date Jennifer and maybe Kate? Even Tyler H jokes in interviews that they started out acting like he was late teen/early 20s and by the end of the show, it was like he was in his mid-30s. I think ppl like Peter/stiles for similar reasons as sterek. Lots of sass, hot guys, power dynamics, etc, etc.

While I am SOLIDLY a sterek anti, specifically because of the inappropriate age gap, I've always agreed that it is not the fault of the fans, the creators and actors playing into the ship as well as the culture of fandom at the time. This is a really great analysis of what made it such a big moment in fandom history. I've been debating making a video discussing similar things, like fandom shipping culture, specifically how it relates to age gaps, kinda focusing on sterek and this was a really cool perspective.

There was this movie I watched as a kid called Bailey's Billion$ about a talking dog who inherited his deceased owner's fortune, while the owner's nephew and his wife plot to kidnap him. Tim Curry played the nephew, Jennifer Tilly, his wife, and Jon Lovitz voiced the titular character. Munro Chambers and Melissa DiMarco (Principal Hatzilakos) were in it too, but the entire time I watched it, all I could pay attention to was Young Eli

I do get what you are saying about Eddie's character being a bit more underdeveloped than the others and they tend to try and speed run any drama has, but I do feel like most of his drama stems from him trying very hard to be perfect for Chris and to 'do the right thing' even if it is actually a terrible idea. if you think about him hiding Shannon's return from Chris, leaving the 118, or the current situation with Chris living in Texas, they all result from him making choices that he thinks are the 'right' thing to do for Chris's well being, even though in the end they cause more problems than they solve. there's this underlying sense for me, which is kind of hammered home in the conversation with his dad in like season 5, that Eddie was raised in a family that had very particular expectations of what a young man should be, and his childhood was about find ways to appease the people around him by filling that image of perfect son even if it was to his own detriment. and now that he's a father he is doing the same thing again, just trying to be the perfect dad. he seems perfect because he forces himself to be, but he does so by repressing all of his own issues in favour of being a stable presence for the people in his life, and every now and then it does get to be too much and he buckles under pressure and does something stupid

I do think it's particularly interesting how much 9-1-1 revitalized an appreciation of network TV for millennials and gen-z. It's explosion in popularity I think is partially to do with people getting sick of 8 episode seasons with 2 year season gaps, and appreciating it's weekly schedule creating ongoing hype and anticipation

this video is pretty old now, but all of us teenagers/young aduts in india usually sing a confused mix of these songs- hindi and english both. i was at a gig pretty recently and i heard someone drunkenly switching between video killed the radio star and koi yahan nache. also, the music industry is finally distangling itself from the movie industry! we're seeing such a rise in indie artists. still, this music does take a lot of inspiration from the film industry. a lot of desi hip hop tracks sample bollywood, songs and dialogue alike. it's sort of sweet that we never forget our roots lol. also, i would be so interested in hearing your thoughts on the music industry as a whole, if that's something you have ever thought about :)
