I weight-lift and last week I was about to do a complicated move and someone walked in front of me -- nowhere near where I would hit them but just seeing them in my space, I bailed out and dropped the barbell. Logically I would have been okay but it psyched me out to know someone was that close to me when I was performing a high intensity move.

Melissa was much calmer and level headed (at least she was up until LA)than Stacey. . I think Stacey's behavior is adding to Lily's freezing up and anxiety. Maddie's mom stayed out of the fights and was nowhere near as petty and instiagating like Stacey is. That probably helped Maddie tremendously. Maddie put the pressure on HERSELF, and yet she rarely made a mistake. Stacey needs to chill out. Also, could you imagine what must be happening to her client list? I would never see a psychologist that acted the way Stacey does.

it’s hard to judge if you’re in the right spacing especially if she was close to Pressley the rest of the dance and then for the aerial she was also close to the wing and she doesn’t have a lot of time to judge whether she has enough room or not. better safe than sorry

I don’t if they still do this. But in the earlier seasons of dance moms they would film they’re performances twice. One for the competition and one to make sure they have the right angles of the dance/show. So maybe she was too close to Presley in one the dances but the editors/producers didn’t show that clip.

selma yes but the moms knew what they were doing. it’s not like the ogs moms who had no idea how popular dance moms would be? at first it was just a tv show about kids dancing and their housewives moms taking care of them in the dance studio yeah sure there’ll be some dramas but if you watched season 1-3 it used to be very natural and spontaneous but since s6 it’s all about the drama which is kinda sad. so as i was saying there are 7 seasons of dance moms, plenty videos that shows how abby/the show/the pressure ruined some of the kids’ mental health and self confidence. they should’ve known better before signing up to be on this show.

I agree that you shouldn’t blame people but as a dancer I can say it’s hard to properly tell people’s position. It’s hard because you can’t look around you, you have to look at the audience. Look at the fellow dancers and it seems as though you forgot the dance. So even if she wasn’t close she probably felt that she was and didn’t want to risk it.

Chloe Obrien when you’re upside down people can look a lot closer. Even when I did dance classes (wasn’t competitive so never was allowed to do arieals since they always told us it was too dangerous barley did cartwheels maybe one or 2 times only when I was in the teen classes at 9) as a kid and had to do handstands sometimes it would look like I was gonna kick someone behind me when I kicked up just because you see things different when you’re upside down

I feel sorry for lilly but she also has to own her mistakes, you can see on the video that she was already off when preparing for the side aerial, and was absolutely not that close to Presley. Same thing with Stacey, she started the conversations about Brady lots of times, and was sarcastic not only in this episode about him being the lead. For her to say that she doesn't know why Brady's mom was upset mostly with her is ridiculous.

Remember that your perception changes when your upside down. She was already stressed and panicking beforehand, so it's not a stretch for her to miscalculate out of fear that she might go into curtain or hit Pressley. It's difficult to tell how far you travel during an aerial, and Lily's aeriels are REALLY jumpy, meaning that she travels just about twice the amount she should.

@@thomassewell5693+ And she's gotten alot better with it now, but if you do look at other duets, trios, group dances etc, Lily isn't all that great with her control, so her timing was almost always off and was therefore not in sync. She always travelled double the amount as the others during leaps and tricks, and took half the time.
