I'm not a fan of Maddie really but this would break anyone's heart. She's what, 9 and panic sicken over dance. That's not right. The girl needed the whole week off to fully collect herself. Being a dancer myself, I would freak out as well. I mean, yes I have an anxiety/panic attack disorder but c'mon. She needed the week off and the fact that Abby was pushing her to do it wasn't right.

Abby left her on the program on purpose so they would call Maddie's name for two reason. One so when people got the program list they would see Maddie's name on it and it would "intimidate" the other dancers like Abby's said before. And two she knew Maddie would feel bad when they called her name and she was in the audience not dancing so she would never say she's not doing a dance again. How many times has Abby pulled dances at the last minute and she has never said anything about they would still be announced. She's pulled dances 15 minutes before they are supposed to go on because she is mad at one of the mother's or something and its fine.

I'm proud of Maddie for standing up to Abby. We ALL know that Maddie is Abby's favorite....the one she gives the best dances and costumes to and the one she pays the most attention to. She puts FAR too much pressure on this nine year old child and Maddie cracked under the pressure and forgot her solo. This week, its Chloe's moment to shine, but Abby left Maddie's solo in the program ON PURPOSE probably so she could pull Maddie in for a sure win at the last minute if the other dancers weren't enough. But Maddie had a bad dance and she NEEDED a minute to collect herself and find her confidence again. Abby should respect Maddie's decision and not punish her for not being ready.
