I have not made the trip to visit Isla Mata La Gata, but it is on my to do list. Thanks for sharing your experience, and allowing me to get a virtual tour. I did visit Gilligan's Island which is not far away off of Guanica. I visited years ago before Maria and covid, so I don't know the current state of it. But Gilligan's would make for some very cool drone footage. Since Mosquito Bay in Vieques is the brightest Biobay on the island, and the world, I've made the trip twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. Once we did kayaks, and another time we did a boat that takes you out. I've also done the biobay in Fajardo, which was also a great experience.

Thanks Kings! We enjoyed the Vieques trip to the Bio Bay (you can see it in a past video), but it has gotten so touristy. I would have liked to have stayed out on the water a bit longer in the kayak. The boat trip in La Parguera was just about the perfect length of time.

@@LifeTransPlanet My first time in kayaks was easily my favorite in Mosquito Bay. I think it was about 10 years ago. We went off the shore in pure darkness, and the guide had a little glow stick. We went out to the middle, we were educated, and then we went for a casual swim. There was no rush, and after a while we re-mounted the kayaks, which was an experience for some, and then we paddled back. The moon phase was perfect, as was the whole experience. The second time I went with family years later, and it was on a pontoon boat. Everybody had their bags, their cameras, their phone, etc. Flash going off here, flash going off there, and all I'm sure for nothing. I did NOT enjoy it nearly as much, but overall it was still cool. Just NO WHERE near as enjoyable and magical as our kayak experience.

I love all your videos, but this one is very special to me since Lajas is my hometown. Did you get to visit Playita Rosada? A lot of good food, cold beverages like piña colada, piraguas, sangría....and beautiful views in La Parguera. Nothing better than the Island life. It has some downsides and disadvantages but, oh boy, it's more of a refreshing, simple, happier lifestyle. Saludos desde TX!

Saludos! No, we didn't go to Playa Rosada because they say it is in disrepair right now unfortunately. But we loved our time in La Parguera and I want to see more of the cayos some time!

Hi guys! There is nothing to buy there (at least not when we were there), so bring a cooler and everything you need to be comfortable. There are bathrooms and changing rooms, picnic tables, but no real commerce unless you bought a beer from someone else haha.

My primo has a casita en La Parguera! He is there almost every weekend. I bet you passed close to it. jaja! My uncle...his dad owned it since the early 70's. We used to visit when we were little until I was 10 when we moved to the states. I was little and thought the whole world was Puerto Rico. It should be! : D Its an amazing place but takes a bit to see it all. BTW...Cassie.....La Parguera you are pronouncing it wrong! haha! .... Well.....you know how to say 'La'....thats simple....... BUT.... 'Parguera'.....let's see if I can put it in written form..... 'PAR'----you want to run the R just a little bit not to much......'rrr'...like saying/pronouncing in english the term........'on par'....but run the RR just a tiny bit..... Then....the 'GUE' in parGUEra.....(pronounce the 'GUE' like ...... 'GET' ..in english but take out the letter T). U is silent. .....then....RA......the R does not run here... ......so is a short RA. Not RAH...like rah rah rah....but a short quick....'RA' PARR--GUE (get---take out the T)..---RA!! PARRR----GUE------RA!!! Love you guys! Keep them coming!!

No the plant it’s not named mata la gata it’s just the name if the island the plants are called mangles.

According to some stories, there was a cat in the "matas" - in the plants. Most of the plants are mangroves/mangles.
