The birds in Central Park are real and alive. We got a tour which said the birds realize when the ship is repositioning and fly back to shore and when the ship arrives at the new port, new birds populate Central Park. Just amazing. 😎

I love, love, love your videos!!! I've been watching them for months, as we were getting excited for our first RCCL cruise! It seemed to take forever since booking it in 2019, but we finally sail THIS SUNDAY on the Oasis!!!! So excited! Thank you for the endless tips and tricks, packing advice, etc. We're on deck 8, with a balcony overlooking the boardwalk. I'm hoping the Aqua Show is performed because I'm told we will have awesome seats from our balcony 😉. My husband and I are both celebrating our 50th birthdays (his was yesterday, and mine is quickly approaching 😳), my daughter turned 21 a few weeks ago and it's my husband and son's first cruise! Well, our cruise was over a month ago, and we had such an amazing time!!!! Ever since we got back, I've been stalking every cruise site available, looking to book our next!!! I love it that you can enjoy every moment, and not have to worry about additional expenses (like meals or activities, unless we choose to do them). For us, it's a truly relaxing, turn the rest of the world off kind of vacation! I see the addiction already in progress 😊. Do you recommend sailing with the same cruise company, or trying various? I see pros and cons to both. As an example, so many of the RCCL ships are very similar (not a bad thing, for sure), so seeing others would be fun, in addition to traveling on different itineraries. On the other hand, staying with the same cruise line would reap its own rewards with their loyalty programs. This is my biggest struggle before I book our next 🛳💗.

We went on this cruise last month and I had some serious FOMO regarding the specialty restaurants. However, after eating in the main dining room every day, I can honestly say that I’m glad I didn’t do the specialty restaurants. The food was really good and I had many good options every night. I couldn’t see spending $60 or more per person for the steakhouse because that’s on top of what you already (technically) paid for the main dining room! We never really ate in the buffet - just did the main dining room for breakfast and dinner (sometimes breakfast at Johnny Rockets, but main dining was better) and then did lunch at the hot dog stand, the Mexican place (no extra charge) and a couple of the other grab-n-go included options.

Just completed our long awaited cruise on the Oasis of the Seas, and had a wonderful time. Highlights: Aqua80 was fabulous... probably one of the two best shows (the other being Saturday Night Fever on the Liberty) that I've seen with Royal Caribbean. Further, Cats (and I know people rag on Cats as out of fashion) but for what it was, it was very well done! The Adventure Ocean was wonderful for my daughter (age 7), and our servers at Chops Grill and Giovani's treated her like a princess at every turn. Lastly... and this was more luck then anything else... Royal Up bumped us two, maybe even three stateroom categories (from a guarantied Ocean View to a Neighborhood Balcony overlooking Central Park) for a minimum bid. And, we were given one of the 8 staterooms (ours was in the Secret Starboard '629' block) with a double wide balcony. There were some issues... the Karaoke song selections are abysmal, and the sessions way to short considering that it has it's own dedicated space. Food in the Wind Jammer is not as good as it once was, and has been declining in quality with each cruise. Lastly, El Loco Fresh was kind of a mixed bag quality wise, and the venue seemed inefficient for the numbers it hoped to serve. Overall though, a very good cruise on the Oasis, and I'd highly recommend.

I LOVED our room location as well on symphony. We had 6135 and 6147. Right next to the spa for morning smoothie or shake, next to elevators, one floor down was promenade, boardwalk was straight to the back, and Central Park was two floors up. And we enjoyed the solarium bistro and solarium was just a straight up elevator ride. It was perfect.

Did you hear any noise from the Royal Theatre below you? We are in the same spot on the Oasis next year and we have a 12 year old handicapped son so we picked a handicap room that is above the theatre and wondering if the noise from below was bad. Thanks!

I was on the Oasis of the Seas last December and I lived in the Solarium on sea days. The Solarium Bistro was my go-to for breakfast every day. The restaurant also had a cool a Greek theme in the evening. It was my favorite included dining option. I actually preferred to have part of the solarium roof open to catch those nice ocean breezes. It offered the best combination of inside and outside for my tastes. Evenings I lived in Central Park. I loved lounging around the Trellis bar and having a glass of wine and tapas at Vintages before my evening meal every night there.

My family and I were on the Oasis in March. We left from Miami. It was a wonderful experience for being my first Cruise. It was nice watching your video and thinking about our trip. Every thing you mentioned was on point. The only thing we didn't like was the CATS show. People were actually walking out of the theather. It's too bad they didn't have the Aqua show. That was my favorite. Those performers were awesome. We loved the cruise so much that we booked another for December 2023. And we are leaving on a Disney Cruise this Saturday cruising on the Fantasy. I recomend cruising anytime. It's so nice and relaxing. I watch your videos and love all your advice. Thank you!

I loved this video! My favourite cabin location on oasis class is on deck six near forward elevators. It's close to vitality cafe for my morning cappuccinos. I spend a lot of time on my balcony and I much prefer being near the water, it's magical. TIP always get an outside balcony on an oasis class, if you can swing it, otherwise you can forget your on a ship. Central park is my favorite place at sea, other than my balcony.

We were on Oasis May 22nd, and our cabin was on 10th floor. Originally i thought it was perfect but park cafe on the 8th closes early so always had to go to deck 5 Promenade for bottled water etc.

Deck 8 FWD or MID on Oasis class ships is the best cabin location, in my opinion, as you can use central park to quickly walk from the front of the ship to the center of the ship. I also prefer the forward part of the ship as it is more quiet. The Boardwalk area (AFT) can be loud at times. Deck 7, or 9, FWD or MID are also good options.

Great video! I was on the same cruise and I was actually in your video shopping at the promenade. I loved the jewelry and cruise basic sales. I agree with your video. Great food. We enjoyed Chops and Playmakers. We did have a suite and really enjoyed the Coastal Kitchen and private deck space. It was a great cruise and a beautiful ship. We didn’t even get to experience it all! Wonderful service and so much to do. Highly recommend.

We like being in an interior balcony room overlooking the boardwalk. We like people watching and can see some of the Aqua Theater. Since it’s in the rear, we also get a little ocean view as well. We haven’t been on the Oasis since it was amped up. Do perhaps it’s a little different now.

Great video. Sailed Wonder in March fav drinks: lime & coconut; lavender martini; painkiller; goombay smash; Miami vice. Cabins: I like mid forward somehow I usually always stay on the starboard side. If you sail RC and Labadee is a port definitely get a balcony on the starboard side.

Thank you for this video. I am going on that ship at the end of August for a glacier cruise in Southwestern Alaska. This video I found very informative and gave me some good advice. We were just on board last month and had a great time with the live music at night. Brendan Lane at the Globe and Atlas pub is awesome! Also, don't miss the comedy shows. Dan Wilson was hilarious. Oh and for drinks, make sure to get a painkiller. Every bartender makes it different but they never missed.

just off the Oasis last week......had a central park interior room...loved it....had the unlimited dining package, LOVED it.......Best Restaurants on board: #1 CHOPS Grille #2 Playmakers #3 PORTSIDE bbq #4 IZUMI sushi #5 150 Central Park #6 Giovanni's Table #7 The hot dog stand! . We didn't try the Main Dining Room, but I'm sure it would have been "just ok" and underwhelming as that is what we heard from many guests on this cruise. We ate at Chops almost every night. Disappointed in 150 Central Park....cold food, and not very flavorful but still better I'm sure than MDR.

Midship deck nine balcony deck Nine is always the best central location on a cruise ship that’s my opinion because you’re not up high enough for the partying not down low enough for the partying. It’s just perfect. Don’t give me wrong. I love to party but getting a good 4 to 5 hours of sleep is perfect. And it’s like in the middle of everything.

My wife and I were with you, same cruise. Although I don't think we met. One thing I have to point out is we DID get to see the Aquatic Show, and I believe it was either Thursday or Friday. It was FANTASTIC! We sat first row as others were afraid of getting wet. Seriously. But- we benefited as it was perfect. My wife got very sick the last night, as I am sure you recall the rough seas. But otherwise she was fine, and always gets motion sickness on planes and such. I love to sing so I was at the Spotlight Karaoke basically every night. Unfortunately they changed the itinerary and forced singers into a horrible Contest. This caused a bit of animosity among some, and that was too bad because prior to that everyone got along famously. Don't know if you went to any of it, but as a point of interest two songs I did repeatedly (because the song list was incredibly short and lacking) were Maria, from West Side Story and Buble's It Had Better Be Tonight. Absolutely loved it since I had never sang them before and both came out very well. We loved the Windjammer and watching the flow riders and the attempted suicides on the ZipLine. Also- the same night we saw the Aqua show we took in a sort of consolation show at the CATS Theater where performers from CATS sang songs along with a piano player. Not good. For some reason; they sang songs from OTHER shows??!!! And several were not as good as some of the singers at Spotlight! Weird. So we left after about 45 min or so. However, all in all we had a great time, and I will definately be moving to the Bahamas soon. Thanks for posting this! Already it brought back great memories and you and your family did a terrific job with the editing and lighting of your videos. God Bless

Hi Ilana, they reversed our Bermuda itinerary, probably because of the COVID testing needed to get off the ship. So from Cape Liberty, sea day, then to Bermuda 3 days. Two sea days Then to Charleston SC for two days, sea day and back to CapeLiberty. So it will be a great 10 night cruise. Great video as always. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut

No extra charge for the solarium! Also, the solarium bistro is complimentary and I highly recommend. Delicious breakfast buffet and lunch buffet. No reservations required except for dinner, which is a mix of waiter-dining and buffet items.

Hi Ilana, Watching this vlog reminded me of the wonderful time I had last September on Oasis! I had waited years for a chance to cruise on it, and I was not disappointed. I live in NJ so it was an easy port to get to. It’s not a big thing, but what I was so happy with was the full sized table on the balcony. I love having breakfast on the balcony, but other ships have the tiny cocktail table, lol. Tight squeeze for 2-3 people. I am glad you and your guys enjoyed the cruise. It’s a wonderful ship.

Brilliant video & you look so relaxed. The ship looks amazing with so much to see and do. Do you think the bigger ships have the advantage over the smaller ones? I've only been on one cruise with NCL. I really liked it cause it wasn't too crowded & had a very relaxing vibe. I'm planning on doing the cruise around Alaska in sept 2023 on the NCL spirit. It's a smaller ship too. I'd like to experience a bigger cruise ship some day but I'm just abit unsure as I get abit anxious with crowds.

I've got my first RCI cruise (cruised Carnival a bunch) coming up on Oasis in TEN DAYS!!!!! (I'm so excited lol) We've got an oceanview balcony on 7 mid, but our next cruise we are thinking of doing Harmony and we've been eyeing the aft Boardwalk balconies pretty hard but haven't pulled the trigger yet haha

Just did this cruise for my honeymoon out of Bayonne at the end of October. My wife had never been cruising whereas I've been on several (used to be a musician with Carnival). The layout of the ship, the decor, the size of cabins, the food and the quality of entertainment are all amazing. We dressed as cats to see the show (cats) and saw it 3 times. The cast welcomed us onstage after the show and we have loads of pics with them. I'd recommend this cruise to anyone!!!!❤️❤️❤️

@@LifeWellCruised thanks! I’m also glad you noted about where you were on the ship. Our rooms are one deck above facing the ocean. It will give me an idea on what’s nearby. Also please do a food and dining video. I have a rather picky crew here. Also if you have any tips on formal night. My hubby doesn’t want to bring dress shoes if he doesn’t have to.

We are going on oasis in Sept. For our 40th anniversary We have a midship cabin which I thought would make navigating such a big ship easier. We are doing a back to back on a peefect day at cocoa caye with the plan to be chill knowing if we miss something week one ww can do it in week 2. Usually we go to blue lagoon in nassau do you have another suggestion. We usually stay on board in Fla.At 70 we have intermittent mobility issues hopefully I made a good choice in cabin location.

I did a rapid antigen test that was supervised online. If you google virtual testing it should be available. It’s what people use for flights as well. You need the official certificate

Good morning! Thank you for the information. I’m thinking about taking my second cruise (1st one was 20+ years ago and dreadful). One of the hurdles is food. I see many vids on how great a cruise is or the fun things to do but never a deep dive on the food. I have food allergies (gluten/cows milk and milk byproducts) so I was wondering how that would work on a cruise? Would I be stuck eating salads and fruit? Thank you!

That’s a great question. When you have allergies you’ll want them noted on your booking, then once on the ship you should speak with the maître d. You’ll be suggested likely to eat in the Main Dining Room mostly as they can make sure your food is prepped safely. I know Royal Caribbean and Celebrity both worth with Dine Aware (I think it’s called), and this is excellent. All cruise lines are different but do take allergies seriously. Although some do a better job than others at high quality food choices. I’d probably try and work with a TA that specializes in cruises to help further :)

It was a disorganized mess from the start. There were four of us traveling. We made reservations over a year ago. When we checked in my sister’s reservation was missing they would not let her through security with the rest of us to board so we were separated us, let 3 of us on the ship but she was not allowed instead she was sent to the office we had to wait for her on the Promenade for about half an hour, when she finally did arrive, it was clear they had totally stressed her out. We got to our cabins we ordered champagne and strawberries, a bottled water package, and a cooler with seltzer’s. None of it was in the cabins so we had to track items down. My bags were not to my cabin the ship was leaving the port, I called they say there were on the ship somewhere so I finally walked up and down the ninth deck looking for them, found them in front of someone else’s cabin also my cruise card someone else had found it at their cabin luckily they bought it to my cabin. Not a good start and only got worse. I had an ok day at Coco Cay, it was crowded, the drinks were weak, food was ok. We did pay for anything, snorkeling was not good, glad we did not pay. There were 6800 people on board, long lines, not enough staff, slow service because sadly the staff was just stretched too far, they added tables to dining room we were packed in like sardines, food serviced cold, and the NEW Menu lacks a-lot, it makes no sense, down right bad, restaurants closing early and opening late, the Loco Fresh was awful, but Play Makers and Pizza was good, that goodness at times it was the only place to eat. CATS was bad, many people just walked out, Aqua show was great when you could get in to see it, it looks us 3 times to get seats.

I hate the new slides on OotS. We always book an inside balcony in the rear so we can watch the Aqua show from our balcony. The slides block that view and negate that advantage.
