You pretty much nailed it on everything. Mine Klee Kai likes to be snuggled and pet on her own terms. If I go to reach out to pet her she will run away, then she will eventually come back up to me for the hugs. She just likes to be the boss.

Definitely accurate! Mine hates all those things as well! My Klee Kai is so skittish with anyone she doesn't know, she is my velcro dog! She also won't do anything unless she wants to 😂

Our Loki doesn’t squeal on claw clips. He hates it and will try full on smack you with a paw. We use a good treat he gets rewarded with after. He hates the bath, hates his crate, hates any attention given to other dogs but loves tummy rubs. 😁😁

Skye reminds me so much of my Klee Kai, it's crazy. I keep forgetting she's female because mine is male and they're so identical physically and in personality.

Lol we named our klee kei puppy Orca because she jumps in the shower or any other body of water with us. She loves bathtime! Lol. love the channel and the videos! Very informative

My chihuahua also hates getting her nails cut. She does this high pitched scream whenever she doesn’t like something and usually it’s when she has to cut her nails. Funny enough, if we use a blanket as a hood around her, she’s usually fine because then she isn’t looking at her nails. It obviously doesn’t hurt her. She just really hates it.

Oh my gosh, Copper reacts the same way as my AKK when trimming nails, Minni is actually a bit worse and we take her to the grooming for it because we can't bare to do it ourselves 😭

Poor Copper. He was screaming bloody murder when you tried cutting his nails. I wonder if it's because he knows that there are blades? He sounded genuine and not playing the drama king/queen. I felt bad for him.xxxxx

1. Zelda does really good with baths now. It took her a good 6 or 7 to get comfortable with it. Now she's almost 2yrs old and will even work with me to move around so I can wash her. Then ZOOMIES. 2. I think she did suffer from a little separation anxiety early on (she tore my base boards off in my apt), but now she handles it really well and was adjusted to my work routine. I am wondering how she will do once I have to go back to work after this COVID thing. 3. Zelda seems fine with authority. She definitely has stubborn tendencies. She thinks she's taking me places on walks when we just both happen to be going in the same direction. She seems too eager to seek praise (or treats) to be overly defiant. 4. OMG Zelda is the same about being touched, or not touched preferably. If you try to pet her head she'll move it down and away. She totally down with some chin scratches though. And she stays just out of arms reach of everyone and jumps away if anyone tries to pet her. When I sit her down she is more compliant. She's also SUPER GENTLE and I have no fear of her harming anyone. 5. Nails. Yes. Thank goodness Zelda isn't as bad as Copper, but it is the only thing I am not comfortable with (She wiggles A LOT, but no bark) and I take her to a groomer to handle this. After 18 months and over a half a dozen trims she now will some what comply with them.

Hello. I have been looking at a few of your videos during the last few days, so thank you for sharing some insights into these lovely dogs. I have had dogs since 1971, and I have a small comment about touching a dog from above, especially above the head. That is a gesture of dominance in how dogs perceive body language, and the reason why your dog puts his head down when you keep doing that, is that you keep showing him dominance when you do that. All dogs would do that more or less. It would be better if you touched him from the sides or from beneath his head, because there is no reason to keep dominating a nice little fella like that. He was also so tired when you recorded this and just wanted to sleep, the little man.

My Klee Kai eats a mix of wet and dry dog food and he loves it. Make sure you brush him once or twice a week since they shed quite a bit of hair

I notice they both have tear stains around their eyes. Ifbyou give purified water, those will go away. I have taken both of ky Klee Kai to the groomers since they were little, so they get handled at an early age amd dont mind the nail trimming. Lots of walks on the sidewalk will eliminate lots of trimming.

I know I'm a year late but I don't think this is the right breed for you. Maybe a maturer, calmer breed would be more likely to fit with each other's needs? Labradour, poodle or any rescue centre will likely be able to match you better. I'm not trying to be rude, just realistic. Sociability alone, different carers coming in sound like an issue for the akk breed. I genuinely believe that there are many other breeds that you would be a happier fit with. Best wishes x
