This is actually sad. People that on dog should know dog body language. This dog is frightened. You need to find a different way to give them a bath. I stand up shower and you get in there with him. My dog is 97 pounds some weight sled dog. My vet suggested the shower and it worked. You also have to moisturize him after the shower.

Our dog hates water, as soon as we say bath time she runs and hides under the bed so we stopped stressing her out and now we don’t tell her we just grab her and put her in. Afterwards she gets a half slice of a cheese slice which is her favourite and she runs to the fridge for it as soon as we’re done towel drying her. The routine has helped a lot and the less you say the bad words “bath time” the less stress your pet will feel.

True, it's the "anticipation" of having to go into the water that's worse than actually being in it. Maybe with a big dog you could "walk" it into the tub by putting it on a leash, but be very quick about it. No talking, just walk confidently into the bathroom like you're taking your dog for a walk, go straight to the tub, lead with the leash to the edge, lift up front paws, say ONE word only such as "UP"...and then the couple can lift the rear into the tub, remove the leash,,,and voila! Soothing words "good boy!" then git washing pronto, otherwise the dog will have too much time to think. BIG treat comes after bathtime, not before. Caution: If you say "UP" five times, then your dog will make you do that every time and will try to drag it out even more, so by the end of it you're saying UP 30 times with zero effect.

Great job ! Suggestions: empty some of the bath water while bathing Phil. Because his legs and paws are standing in dirty bath water. So empty the bath water and wash his legs and paws. Also, during the bath, occasionally give him the peanut butter jar so he can get some of his treat to reward him for his good behavior. Also, if you occasionally give him some peanut butter DURING the bath, he will be more willing for bath. He will associate bath with peanut butter.
