The BeeGee's early hits were the absolute best. I would suggest I've Gotta Get a Message To You, To Love Somebody, and Words. Great reaction Stan. 👌👌

One of Robin's most beautiful leads. That magical ethereal voice of his is what drew me to this amazing young man in the first place back in 1967 and I've been totally in love with him ever since. ❤ Please react to The Midnight Special"s 1973 version of another wonderful early Robin lead called "I Can't See Nobody". They just recently released their version of this amazing song and, in my humble opinion, this is his most heartfelt performance ever. He definitely pours his heart and soul into it. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

Dozens of great Robin leads both before and after disco. Post disco, Bodyguard, Fallen Angel, When he's gone, etc. Pre disco, Country Lanes, I started a joke, The singer sang his song, Back diamond, etc..

They wrote a ton of songs, in Songwriters Hall of Fame. Have you checked iut Andy Gibb, their younger brother? Very gifted, talent runs all through that family.

It's nice to see the ones where Robin sings and it's not always Barry's falsetto (as good as that can be). You should check out 'Spicks & Specks' (only a hit in Australia when they were just teenagers). Keep up the great reactions!
@Sometimes-even-lyrical7 ай бұрын
Barry's falsetto, frankly, is nasal. I'm not a fan when there's too much of it in a song (it gets annoying). Barry's natural register, however, is quite pleasant to the ear. But... ROBIN's voice is ethereal and exquisite. That said, the brothers' harmonies are outstanding, as well as are the songwriting and lyrical gifts among them. There is no group like The Bee Gees!

In most songs, I'm not a fan of Robin's quivering vibrato. It's okay in small doses or when he's singing with Barry. Otherwise, he has just too much warble going on!😵💫

Please do other songs recorded by other artists that The Bee Gees wrote. Some include: (just disregard the ones you’ve already reacted to) If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) -- went to #1 Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand)- went to #1!. In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and Barry did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs. They won a Grammy for best song by a group or duo for Guilty. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons) - went to #1. In fact, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD with Barry doing a lot of background vocals. Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on this CD too. This was her best selling CD! The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) - went to #1 in several European countries! And yes, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees (went to number 1 in several countries),also sung background. The live 1997 from Vegas is excellent! More Than a Woman (Tavares) Love Me (Yvonne Elliman) Come on Over (Olivia Newton John) Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it. Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli), went #1 Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer) Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;). Andy's 3 released solo songs all went to #1!

How absurd 😉 not Stayin Alive or Night Fever, but this monster banger was the biggest hit in Germany of the Bee Gees in 1967 this tune occupied the number one spot for 12 weeks ‼and is still today one of the biggest singles in Germany of all time ‼with 3 million units ⭐

I wasn't a disco fan. Love the pre and post disco. The falsetto was overused past its best before date and got them mocked and blacklisted although it made them famous for a while. Now, sadly most people just consider them just a disco group. That means they're missing out on a lot of terrific music.

i was stationed in Germany back then and I remember dancing with a pretty fraulein to this song.
@kthor2 ай бұрын
The Bee Gees being blacklisted had nothing to do with falsetto, but being labeled as disco. If the backlash was due to that, then Barry would've have been the one major artists were lining up to work with, much less singing on their albums.🙄
