No matter how you start your homeschooling journey, the most important thing is that you're doing what's best for your kids. Honestly, for some, it means public school. As long as your kids best interest comes first, it doesn't matter if you started last year out of desperation for something better or have homeschooled your kids whole lives. I'm rooting for you!

Hey Katie, I loved this! We used Abeka as kids and I loved it, but it's so cool to see it from the parent's perspective. The flexibility of the schedule was one of my favorite things about being homeschooled! We did school year round with lots of breaks. I also loved that it doesn't take that long so you can have more time to choose what you want to do!

Abeka does sell those subjects individually and you can add them on, but I don’t find it necessary for Kindergarten. I also have a second grader and she does do those subjects and I do sometimes include my kindergartener in those lessons. Thanks so much for watching 🤗

Thinking of going with Abeka for kindergarten. My daughter has mastered her alphabet upper and lower, numbers up to 100, writing them but is starting to learn how to associate the sounds of letters to form words. Would this program be good to help and get her able to read by 1st grade as long as I follow the curriculum? We will probably do the videos cause we have a newborn and don't have a ton of time to assist her, thank you for your input
@LifeWithTheLovedays2 жыл бұрын

Hello, I loved your review of this curriculum. The only question I had was do you do the accredited version or non accredited?
@LifeWithTheLovedays3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I do the unaccredited version. I know some people do accredited for accountability but I don’t find that necessary for myself. I think I would only do accredited if my kids were in high school just so I would have an official transcript. Hope that helps! 😃

I'm really thankful for this video! I know I can speak for many parents who are starting for the 1st time! We already are learning spelling and counting/addition and subtraction etc. But haven't gotten any curriculum from a homeschooling program. I have a 5 year old, 4 year old and in some weeks going to be 3 year old. They all have been learning together which has been great. I just want to know with Abeka do you record what they accomplish let's say per week or per month etc and send it to them so that its accounted for? Does Abeka have a booklet for parents to write down (as proof) what the children have completed so that one day they can actually graduate LORD WILLING with a legitimate certificate? And do homeschoolers have to get a G.E.D in order to have a certificate? I hope my questions make sense these are the things I've been confused about. Thanks in advance. And anyone who knows in the comment section please help if you can😂🙌🏼
@LifeWithTheLovedays2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’m glad this was helpful for you. So Abeka has two homeschool programs. This one that I do is parent led which means I am the teacher and I’m doing it all on my own. I do not report anything to Abeka. I keep my own records. Abeka also has Abeka academy which is video lessons and is accredited. With that program you do send in your reports to Abeka and they keep the records. So it’s really your personal preference. Now also, it can depend on your state laws also. My state requires me to send in a yearly progress report. That’s all. As far as the GED goes, yes you can get a GED but also depending on your state again, you can get a regular high school diploma. Many homeschoolers will use an accredited program to get this. Abeka Offers a accredited high school diploma through their accredited program. They even do a full on graduation ceremony in Florida every year! If we are still homeschooling when my kids are in high school, I would do the accredited program so they can have a diploma. I hope that is helpful to you. A lot of things depends on the laws in your state so I would definitely encourage you to research that. 😃
@RepentAndBelieve14372 жыл бұрын
@@LifeWithTheLovedays thank you soo much for your response!! If you dont mind a few add on questions based on your responses. When do you recommend the accredited homeschooling? Should that be freshman year to senior year? So that while they are young it can just be reported yearly as you mentioned? And where do you send it yearly when it's *not* accredited? Thank you so much for your time and help you have NO IDEA how much help you have been!
@LifeWithTheLovedays2 жыл бұрын
@@RepentAndBelieve1437 yes personally I would just do accredited for the high school years. If you are not accredited, you do not have to send anything into Abeka but you might have to send in some proof of school (either a progress report, test examples, etc) to your state. Each state is different. Go to hslda.org for more info on state homeschool laws 🤗
