Just wanted to say your content is incredibly helpful and you deserve 10x, 100x the amount of views. I’ve been going through lots of your videos today and each one has taught me something valuable. I have an interview next week for a role that I could only have dreamt of a couple of years ago. I’ve got lots of prep to do, but your videos are really, really helping. Thank you!!

YAY! I am so glad to hear you've got such an exciting interview next week. Keep practicing (and watching these videos ;) ) to feel prepared! I highly recommend recording your answers to some interview questions and watching it back so you can not only hear your answer but also watch yourself. It's great insight :) Thanks again for watching!

Excellent information and well presented! By simply watching this, I was able to clarify and solidify my approach to my next round interview. I’ve interviewed with the recruiter, the hiring manager, two technical peers and will be speaking with the hiring manager’s director tomorrow. I am really focusing on the third point of “good fit “. I believe the bulk of capable and interested have been accomplished through the first three rounds of interviews. While I am definitely comfortable summarizing those points, I believe focusing on fit/company culture/chemistry is most likely more important to a higher up like a Director. Thanks!

How did your interview with the director go today?
@johnellwoodtaylor47694 ай бұрын
@@LifeWorkBalance it went very well. A mostly informal dialogue. The Director was excited about moving forward and went ahead and scheduled a meeting with the sales Director in person on Wednesday. This role is for a pre-sales solutions architect. While I need to do some more preparation, because this role works in hand with account reps meeting with customers, it makes sense that someone from sales lays eyes on me. Thank you for asking!

How can a candidate show *genuine* interest and passion about the organization's goals, mission etc. when those goals, mission etc. are mostly PR BS and are in no way genuine? I've worked in several companies big and small, and found that good employers who treat the personnel in a decent way regardless of position in the hierarchy and have a good work atmosphere - are usually *not* the ones that post their missions, visions, pseudo-goals and pseudo-virtues all over the place to look good

Good question. I've worked for organizations that have done both: embraced the mission, vision, values, and goals, and really LOOK for candidates who also are passionate/enthusiastic about them; and I've also worked for organizations that do it for the PR. You can usually tell which is which, based on how much the interviewers know about the mission, vision, values, and goals...

You can state that you tried finding it online but couldn't. You may then ask them what their mission and vision is and confirm that it aligns with your value system on the spot.

@@witt5524 The problem is *not* that they are hard to find. Usually they are the main thing the company presents on their website. The problem is that they are empty declarations and have very little in common with the actual company culture. Therefore the candidate would have to show genuine passion for bullshit...

How early is too early to arrive at a job interview????
@LifeWorkBalance6 ай бұрын
Great question! I would arrive about 15 minutes early, but I don't think there is such thing as "too early." If you arrive before the 15 minute mark, maybe take sometime to walk around the area to clear your head, or sit somewhere quiet to review your notes.

Is it bad to show up with notes for in person interviews? Like you prepare for the questions?
@LifeWorkBalance6 ай бұрын
No! You are definitely allowed to bring notes to an interview. Here is a whole playlist on this topic: kzbin.info/aero/PLzWOz8R0BVKljXtMBwO0HTwsnmgjWQOwD
