Thank you this helped in my preparation that questions i got were : 1.When can you start working ? 2.What is your expected salary ? 3.Challenging projects? / What project or accomplishment are you most proud of? 4.Describe yourself in 3 words 5.Tell me, in your own words and through your research, what does the company do? 6.Tell me about what intrigues you most about this particular position? 7.Why did you apply for the job ? 8.Do you have any questions for me ? Not the exact verbatim on questions but basically the same.

Today I went to a Job Fair at my local borough. Then I interviewer asked me about my background and asked about my accent but she said that I had a feeling that it was just to get me down, i felt really uncomfortable and just wanted to finish it as soon as possible, she again said she was tired and she was to email me just tomorrow when she wake up lol 😂 literally she said it 😅well honestly I was choked how she did it in her position, I supposed she was there to help ….

Hi, I have a question. Should I apply for jobs that prefer a bachelors degree in a specific area even though I may not have a BA but a Masters in that specific area? I feel like the MA trump’s the BA, however, I’m unsure.

I had my resume revised using AI and used an ATS based evaluation app to evaluate and rate my resume. My original got a 48% rating. I went back and forth telling AI to adjust my resume based on what comments I got from the ATS system and by the time I got to 68% rating, my resume looks great but even I dont recognize my resume anymore. Whats worse is, this was as far as I can go with the free version and if I wanted to get a higher rating I need to upgrade to a paid version. What BS this is! This is the reason why I say that this type of s@$t is making HR Lazy and will never end up with great candidates because while the resume looks awesome, the candidate will end up failing the interview in the end. A resume is supposed to reflect a candidates work experience and how it will align with the companys requirements. If the company wants to hear more then they request for an interview. What happens here is that great candidates are "weeded out" just because they did not put a keyword or they did not wow the reader with high faluting words. Frustrating.

I would say this is generally a good response, though at the same time it might be something they say to everyone...I would ask a follow up question to see when you might expect to hear back from them, and if you don't hear back during that time, you can send a follow-up email to check-in.

Thank you for sharing this list. I think the first two categories-Cultural Base Questions and Role Specific Questions-are excellent for showcasing genuine curiosity and professionalism during an interview. They highlight the candidate’s interest in the organization and the role, which is always a positive impression. However, I do have some feedback on the Hesitation Questions: 1. The first three questions, while well-intentioned, may come across as insecure or overly eager. As a hiring manager, we’re often unable to discuss other candidates or explain why we haven’t made a decision yet-it’s a matter of professionalism and confidentiality. 2. Asking why you’re not being hired immediately (even if worded more subtly) can feel pushy and undermine the confidence you’ve built during the interview. As a hiring manager for 15 years, I would rather hear these questions. 1. What qualities or traits have made others successful in this role at your organization? • This focuses on positive attributes, showing you’re thinking about long-term success in the position. 2. What does growth or advancement look like for someone in this position over the next year or two? • A forward-thinking question that demonstrates ambition without pressuring the hiring manager for immediate feedback. 3. Can you share any insights about the team I’d be working with or collaborating with in this role? • This shifts the focus away from insecurities about the hiring process and onto building rapport with the team, which is key to understanding the role’s dynamics. 4. What excites you most about the future of this organization? • A more big-picture question that can help candidates connect their goals to the company’s vision, leaving a confident and optimistic impression. 5. What do you think would be the most important focus for the first 30, 60, or 90 days in this role? • While it’s similar to a question in the “Role Specific” section, it reframes the conversation around delivering value early, which hiring managers appreciate.

Hi, this is the first video I watched in your channel I really liked it. Already a subscriber now! I have a question on another related topic: I noticed that an important local firm in the industry I work in constantly posts a job offer for a vacancy that is very specific - almost a niche, and which is exactly what I work with. Even recruiters approach me from time to time to promote those offers, but eventually I never hear from the company. I'm not saying I'm Mr wonderful and that they should hire me... what makes me curious is why they keep announcing that job and when someone with the qualifications and experience shows up interested, they won't even set an interview and the offer posting keeps being renewed again and again? I wonder if maybe they are just "throwing baits in the water" to check how competitor's employees would respond? Any insights would be highly appreciated!

Great question. You’re not alone with this type of experience with a job and recruiters! My guess is either the job is a scam (how do you usually find them or are contacted by recruiters?) OR the timing isn’t right. Especially if you’re approached and then ghosted before you’re even screened or interviewed.

Thank you so much for this mini series! I’ve been in and out of work for a couple of reasons the past 10 years. I really appreciate how you handled work gaps! My question is are objective or executive summaries still needed? If so how would we go about writing one? I’m of the era where this was a non-negotiable portion of the resume but I feel that I may be dating myself and want to stay relevant. Thank you again! Look forward to a video or short addressing the summary/biography portion of a resume 🙌

Just wondering. WHY? Why, if you have no questions, is BAD? I am an amazing employee and I just need the freaking job! I don't have any questions JUST GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY to start working and to prove that I am amazing. How is it that If I didn't ask questions makes me a BAD employee or candidate for the role? this rule is 18th-century rule imho. All these questions to ask the interviewer to let them speak will give you ZERO information as they will never tell you the truth about what is happening in the company.
@LifeWorkBalance
@LifeWorkBalance 8 күн бұрын
It’s not necessarily “bad” to the point where it will ruin your chances of getting a job. Most employers want to know you’re interested, eager, and invested in the role, and asking questions can help do this!

What if they gave me an offer letter but it’s contingent on background, reference, mvr, and drug screening? Should I go ahead and give the two week notice. They want me to sign the document to start 12/2. I should be able to pass everything. Do you think I’m over thinking dropping the 2 week notice?

A contingent offer is not a job offer. Anything can happen, so DO NOT resign/put in your 2 weeks until you have a formal offer of employment. I would communicate this with the hiring team and ask that your start date be at least 2 (if not more) weeks after you’ve been sent and accepted the formal offer.

Excellent advice; thank you...! I am a Christian and one thing that frees me to connect with my interviewer and allows me to have a good conversation is the certainty that I have that God is in control of the outcome. That certainty allows me to be myself and to interview back the interviewer on what he or she likes the most and the least about the organization and other cultural questions that will convey to me, if I really would like to work for or be associated with the organization. A job is a two-way relationship where both partners should win with it.
