I think it's not so much that us Germans don't want to talk about it. We do. Often. It's just that there's a time and place for it. And I've had foreign friends randomly bring up the topic of nazis in casual conversation like you would talk about what's on TV last night. And as you said correctly - that's a bit like getting whiplash. I mean, imagine someone at a party suddenly asking "Oh, btw, how many slaves did your family own?". And yeah, I have been asked, with no particular lead-in, "Hey, what's your thoughts on hitler? Were any of your grandfathers in the SS?".

Dude...What the heck happened to your eye?! Nice German btw.... keep on going! About being late to an appointment: Give that person a call and ask that person if it was a problem if you arrived 10 minutes later! Then it's not a big deal. But as always: Call that person in time... so: Prior to the appointment! ;-)

Your video was excellent, very interesting!! For people that don't care for German food, there are many other kinds of restaurants. Every possible American fast food eatery is everywhere. Your German is excellent, many people don't realize that English is a West Germanic language. A lot of the words we use are very German. Here in the US most people don't realize that the largest single ethnic group is German.(look it Up) Thanks again for a great video.

Me as a German I can say despite I'm not that much into religion but it's always a joy for me to see people helping people. Well sometimes it's quite fun to see the country were I life in through the eyes of others - lustig ist es auch, von anderen zu hören, dass das Anstehen an Kassen ziemlich hektisch sein kann. :P

German - American relations were always good until a U.S. President was elected who wanted to make America great again. I think that they will continue to be good once this person who does not seem to know what international diplomacy is based upon will be thrown out of office. I myself would not want to life in a town named gut or intestine city (just a joke we make about Darmstadt). Your knowledge of German is really remarkable, almost without this typical "Yankee accent".

For some reason if you go to Germany you have to pretend that you love people from all over the world. Even though that it's their culture (the Germans) that you wanted to visit, you still have to take the time to Verbally state that it's other people from around the world that you like and even though that the United States has the most immigrants of any country in the world you act like that's the best part of germany. Meanwhile it's the alleged 'minorities' that make it less german and without a culture even though they constitute well over 50% of newborn in Germany. Yea...das ist die realität leute
