1️⃣Spider Mountain truly exceeded my expectations; the trails were very fun and rather long for the mountain's elevation of 350ft. I also found out that the MTB culture here is bigger than you would think! So, if you're in Texas for any reason, this is definitely a place to check out! I will be here for a couple more weeks, so stay tuned for my videos in Texas and maybe I will even be going to the MTB capital of the world... 😉

Hey, if you're still in Texas maybe check out Station Mountain Bike Park in the Austin area. It was setup this year by an 18yo entrepreneur rider and I'm one of the investors in the bike park. Would be cool for you to do a video and share your thoughts!

I am! And matter a fact, I rode Station today! It was absolutely AMAZING! I will be having a video coming soon, I will try to get it out next week but we will see if I have time to edit it by then. I met Rhett today actually, the bike park is impressive, and its even more impressive with how much time they got it done in! What made you invest in it? Were you one of the people he DMed on LinkedIn? I appreciate you supporting it, it is such a gem even to the stuff we have in Cali.

@@thebigoutsidemtb that's great! Yes, I was one of those DM'ed. I invested because I liked the background story and the entrepreneurship will, and of course if I can put a few $$ to further the sport that's great. I do a fair bit of angel investing in technology startups, so it was a refreshing change to invest closer to home AND with a more reasonable time horizon for return-on-investments (the tech investments sometimes get lucky to see money back after 8+ years, but most just go to zero)

@amir_mtb I appreciate you investing in such an amazing bike part to further the community in TX! You need to come out and ride it! I can't believe what he has done with the place... so many jumps/tech for all skill levels. And yes, as a fellow investor is tech stock, I know how it is.

Which bike computer and how did you mount it to the top tube? I have a Bronson and have been looking to do the same. Awesome video by the way!

How the heck are you holding so much speed in the rough sections and still able have pop on the jumps and traction in the berms? I’ve ridden spider mountain a few times and always had to trade 1 for the other. Would you mind sharing your suspension settings?
@thebigoutsidemtb
@thebigoutsidemtb 2 ай бұрын
It just commitment and cornering skill. Suspension settings don't work across suspension brands, models, and over all, setup is personal. If I were to give you a tip on how to hit it like that, just work on commitment to speed in chunky stuff, work on you're Suspension setup, and most importantly, work on cornering skill. That is a super over looked thing that few master.

@@thebigoutsidemtb Thanks for the reply. Those things matter for sure, but I want to know more about your setup. Are you running a super plush setup or more firm? Are you running fast rebound or slow? That sort of stuff
@thebigoutsidemtb
@thebigoutsidemtb 2 ай бұрын
@@johnnycycle Gotcha. I don't have my setup written down sadly, but I am definitely running a plusher setup which seems to work well, but it also might be causing problems such as mid stroke support. And for rebound, I'm running it slow at the moment but I might experiment with opening it up. I am running the Grip 2 Damper so I have high and low speed which makes things more tricky to get right. I have been happy with my setup but I think I could get more. So you're open to try a similar setup, but it may or may not work for you since it purely rider preference.

Oh lol, he was good with it. He was okay. It was just a brake issue, not a skill issue. He is the one who taught me how to wheelie, so he knows his way when it comes to wheelies.
