Nice video and observations! The best comparison I've seen. Nice to come from Lift guys. Integrity is a beautiful thing. Was the new Lift controller not out at this point?
@HALFLIFEVIDEO2 ай бұрын
Hi Mike - the new controller was not out. Thank you for checking out the video - these two brands are the best out there so you can't go wrong. Such a great way to spend time on foil. Enjoy the freedom! and If you end up going with Lift - we'd appreciate the order. And if you go with Flite please shoot us some video/pics on instagram @halflifet.5 Best Half-Life Crew

does it fit on the back of a normal car ? or do you have to re assemble it every time ?
@HALFLIFEVIDEO Жыл бұрын
If you have an SUV - it may fit fully built depending upon model. For smaller cars you'll need to at a minimum take the mast off. It's pretty quick - four screws. This applies to both Lift and Fliteboard.

I would get the flits board just because the prop is so much more further down in the water. I rode foils and I like to be high on the foil and I hated it when the prop breached I felt like I was barly up. Just my 2 cents

You should not swap wings between powered and non-powered foils. EFoils are much heavier than non-powered, so they require special wings for the best ride and efficiency.
@HALFLIFEVIDEO Жыл бұрын
Thanks Fluterra - However - that's inaccurate. The Lift efoils are ridden with standard Lift foils that are used for non powered (wake, wing, surf). You can freely swap. Best, The Half-Life Crew
@mikeb10394 ай бұрын
Yeh, that's not true. I have Lift Efoil and non E foil setups and the wings are the exact same. Different sizes are more for amounts of lift and ability to turn quickly.
@alexioflexio88184 ай бұрын
doesn't breaching happen more easily with the Lift, with the prop so much higher up the mast?
@HALFLIFEVIDEO4 ай бұрын
No -- And - you can ride through any prop exposure. Just because the prop comes out of the water doesn't mean you breach. In fact, the prop placement allows you to put adapters on the mast (custom fuselage) that allows you to make the most of your quiver from other disciplines. For example for prone, wing, tow-in foiling we use Armstrong. We have a custom fuselage that we put on which allows us to use the full Armstrong quiver we have. What a blast. You can not do this on Flite.

Is the Foil brand board less buoyant than the Lift? I had ridden a few left boards and then purchased a flight board in the longer version actually. When I’m in the water starting a ride, it seems too much more easily submerge than the lift did. I’m wondering if that’s your experience? It’s a little concerning because there’s specific instructions are to make sure that the battery door does not get submerged, but I find that nearly impossible
@HALFLIFEVIDEO Жыл бұрын
I've found that the boards of similar size (length) are pretty close in volume - so float me about the same. In a perfect world the battery door would be dry but that's impossible and both companies know it. I don't typically sit for long period on the board in the water while not moving (surf style submersion) but haven't had any trouble with the Lift. I ride the Lift a lot more often the the Fliteboard because we're a dealer and own them. The Lift has a foal sealer around the inside of the battery compartment. So long as you take good care of it it will keep the water out. It's also pretty easy to replace. Have fun and thank you for checking out the video!

On the Lift, can you use the foils on another board like a Wingfoil board?
@HALFLIFEVIDEO2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jake -- Yes -- If you have a Lift eFoil -- you can buy a second mast (non powered) and attached the same foils (front wing, back wing) to that mast for wake, prone, or wing foiling. Don't hesitate to give us a call with questions (909) 698-0401. Best, Tim

If you are going to take a lift board and make it non powered, are you removing battery if riding behind a boat, to make it lighter?
@HALFLIFEVIDEO Жыл бұрын
It's not something you'd do. What you can do is get a second board designed for wake AND a non power based mast. Then you can use the same fuselage, front and back foil. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Best, Tim

Easy decision….. lift. Nothing comes close. I own the the 4’2 and the 4’9 lift 3, 32 inch mast. My brother and I both prefer the 4’2 pro. (I’m 6’3” 215 lbs and he is 6’2” 235lbs) If you have surf and board sport skills don’t worry about going small. My brother at 235 actually wants something smaller lol. For the lift HA wings 32 tail feels to small… recommend the 38 or bigger for better pitch stability. . We do not recommend the 28 inch mast, 32 inch is so much better for carving turns. I don’t think lift should even make the 28 inch mast anymore IMO. Keep those batteries out of the Sun and your good.

Thanks for the perspective Methane Springs and thank you for checking out our video. That's impressive, we've had issues with larger guys sinking the small board which affects the bluetooth -- so it's great to hear that you have it figured out. Keep shredding! Best, Tim
@mikeb10394 ай бұрын
@@HALFLIFEVIDEO it's an issue. Sure some can make it work but most will struggle. Especially at first. I"m 226lbs today and I ride the "big" 5'4" board which is only like 110L. It won't float me comfortably and I will sink the front and lose bt several times per session. but only on starting out in the water. Never a prob when up. I am getting to the point where I'd appreciate less swinging weight from the board when on foil. But I haven't because of the wariness of having a smaller board. I am more tempted now with their inflatable "training wheels"

after watching this video, it seems like the Flite is so much more advanced in every way. Lift just seems clunky and old fashioned, like a first gen jet-ski
@HALFLIFEVIDEO4 ай бұрын
Hi Alexioflexio -- you may be missing the subtlety of foil comparison. That said, Flite has great packaging, rides well and is a great product. Both Lift and Flite are head and hands above the rest. You can't go wrong with either. I hope you get one and enjoy the freedom of foiling! Thanks for checking out our video. Best Half-Life Crew

Hahaha, it’s funny to watch the Lift dealer try to downplay the “minor refinements” of the Fliteboard. If Lift were half the price, I would say OK, but at the same price, I don’t know why anyone would buy a Lift board.

Haha indeed Fluterra -- Have you ridden them both? Have you put Armstrong foils on them - have you ridden them in the ocean? Fliteboard is a great product. As is Lift. Thank you for watching. Half-Life Crew
