An epic adventure with over 20 lifts to look at! It was one heck of a task to film every last lift at the centre (minus the one that was broken!). This video is my Christmas Special for 2019, so Merry Christmas to all my viewers.

I am such a doofus.....I actually HAVE filmed a KONE Design series before....the Polaris system I did in Wellington earlier this year had KSC D20 in it....

I remember a long time ago when I was a kid, that lift in Next did open on the other set of doors at the first floor, but when they refurbished the store they moved the doors to the other side (which is why the first floor has a different call button).

1:12 EPIC LIFT And Those Buttons Are Also Epic They Look Really Nice
@the_alex_ellis_channel69234 жыл бұрын
They are Dewhurst Switching Components buttons (both types of button here are). The basement was originally a staff-only floor, and thus had a blank button. It was only when it was converted to more shopping & Waitrose that the blank button was changed to a B. That is why these lifts all have a different button for B.

Zara in Bluewater have removed these lifts I think and have installed a single new Orona lift at the back of the shop

The lift in boots the date is 7 years behind when you filmed it but when I’m sending this comment now it is 11 years behind

I'm not actually sure if the KONE Design Series in H&M is an Ecodisc, I've heard somewhere that it used to be a Schindler with the keypad, but im not 100% sure
@the_alex_ellis_channel6923Ай бұрын
General consensus is that the Schindler was fully replaced in the store refurbishment. This lift sounds to me like an EcoDisc, and the doors appear to be KONE doors.

I think H&M actually moved stores so the Schindler could still be there.

On the Elite lift it says 2 is the upper mall and the only floor above it is the cinema which the Gen2 doesn't serve. Is Dinotropolis on the first floor where the management suite used to be?

13:48 Alex narrates: “People on the ground floor who want to go to Dinotropolis have to get in the automatic lift to go to the first floor, then change to the Gen2 to go up to the second floor.” Implies that Dinotropolis is on level 2, and that level 1 is the upper mall. Maybe they’ve changed the floor numbering of this part of the mall since the Elite went, or the signs beside the buttons on the Elite were wrong. Not sure, though.

3:23 the outside blue Otis car park lift on the left might be modernised or replaced or under repairs as it keeps breaking down albeit the lifts are 23 years old (within the life expectancy of a traction lift).

Outdoor lifts are always more susceptible to wear and tear, due to exposure to the elements as well as the increased risk of vandalism.

@@the_alex_ellis_channel6923 Well on my visit to Bluewater today, on car park level 1 there is currently a barrier that looked like it is getting replaced with the poster saying ‘it is having a make over.’ However on the ground floor and car park level 2 there was no barrier. This is confusing. I’m happy to send you a picture of it for proof. The lift on the right was working fine. I think the lift on the left had been broken for weeks maybe months.
