The Schindler M-series the way that KONE modernized it is making it look like an Ecodisc

Those Schindlers and the Otis 2000 could've been really worn out in the motor room. There is always one reason why the lifts were modded
@battytec3 жыл бұрын
I think the reason places like these get their lifts modernised is to keep them all uniform. If you have all of your lifts exactly the same it would make maintenance way easier.

Nice video! No idea what the point in modding those lifts were tho, they were working really well originally and they were only from the 90s so what is the point in modding something that is already working brilliantly well and make the lifts run slower?
@Lift.Tracker4 жыл бұрын
I agree. I can’t see the problem either. Maybe there were some sort of reliability problems, but I don’t know. I’d say it’s mostly because of the shopping centre management having a lack of knowledge about lifts and were persuaded by the company that they would benefit from a modernisation.
@MichalM3 жыл бұрын
Well we've seen it at Crowngate now! Lack of parts means what parts are available are more expensive. Wouldn't surprise me if that's the reason.

Beno can go and do one. I do not condone his childish, dangerous and disrespectful behavior. He messes around with other people's property and puts himself and others at considerable risk to surf lifts when neither him nor his friends are trained engineers.

I do wonder if things would've played out differently if the shopping centre had stayed with Intu Properties. When up in the Midlands, I went to Intu Merry Hill (which has been whole owned by Intu since 2014), and I noticed that they have put in an Otis Gen 2 in 2016, and are currently having a new Ecodisc installed. I wonder if perhaps The Glades would've got better lifts had it stayed as an Intu site, rather than sold.
