Lifted 2012 GMC Sierra Z71!

A quick walk around of my 2012 GMC Sierra Z71 SLT.

Absolutely beautiful truck. I have a 2011 Sierra 1500 SLT model as well, but without the navigation screen and cooled seats. Mines came with the optional 6.2L V8 L9H motor. I think the oil leaks are more common in the 5.3, but maybe some 6.2s. I eventually plan to add a lift on mines as well. Does the ride feel good to you with lift? Beautiful truck man! One of the best generations of the Sierra. I got a 2012 too, though it’s a ext cab sle.

I just bought a 12’ ext cab sle with 54,000 miles anything I should be worried about ?

Congrats on the truck. That’s a good find! They are pretty solid as long as you change fluids regularly and install some rear wheel well liners. Only real issues I have run into are the bolts on the exhaust manifolds like to rust and break when you try to remove them and it will occasionally eat a wheel bearing.

@@rockinrides I’m a little worried about the afm did you have to disable it ?

The AFM was not broken but a friend ran a disabler so it activates less often. I also keep up on my oil changes and use quality oil and so far have had no issues. That being said I do plan on eventually deleting it.

​@@thomaswright5129if u got the money delete the afm. If u on a budget then constant oil changes and like the guy said run a afm disabler and also change your spark plugs often. Especially cylinder number 1
