I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 work truck Long bed, color white, completely basic, crank roll up windows, vinyl flooring, Cost a couple dollars for a basic key, that's right no fob or key chip, just a good old fashioned metal key. The ignition is so worn out the key just comes out of the ignition even when it's on. Nowadays you couldn't do that with more modern trucks. 4.8 liter engine with almost 194,000 miles, bought it 3 years ago, used to be a motorcycle hauler at a dealership, then had 168,000 miles paid almost $2400, since then it's been a great truck. By next year it will be considered a Classic at 20 years. Good old Chevrolet !

@Poulton Real The Nissan Jukes are nowhere near as popular as anything else in the segment. I see lots of Hyundai Konas and Mazda CX-3s/CX-30s, they'll probably last like 5 times longer than the ugly Nissan Juke, I dont know about Hyundais, but Mazdas will definitely last a long time. The only thing they used to have going for them is that they were cheap, sometimes by up to $5k compared to others. But nowadays the price difference is so slim, there's no reason to pick the Juke over anything else in the segment at this point. I have no idea what a Qashqai or whatever is though.

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD with the 6.0 and the 4L80E transmission. When GM built those 6.0L engines, they built them right! 226,000 miles and this thing still will pull our 7000lbs travel trailer down the road like it's not even there. Acceleration will still put you back in your seat! One of the best trucks I ever owned. Outside of routine maintenance, replacing wear and tear stuff, it's been pretty much a trouble free truck. Yes, you pay a premium price 2500HD, but your getting a truck that is better suited for heavy duty towing, they are work horses, passes everything but a gas station, better than those sissy 1500s that GM puts out. I purchased a 15 Chevy 2500 LTZ 4x4 with a 6.0 for 26K. It was a one owner. The truck had 147k on it at the time. It now almost 160K. It looks and drives like a brand new truck. The steering is tight. It burns no oil and everything works. So far it’s been a very good vehicle.

I got a 2009 silverado 2500hd 6.0 and absolutely love the truck. Gas mileage is its worse culprit avg 12.5 mpg but dont mind it because the truck is solid overall. Im a 2500hd and 3500 guy.

Only two times when the 4x4 in my 1984 F250 was put to work. When I buried the axles in deep mud and sludge in a heavily watered orchard and when a tree was being stubborn. Keep in mind the tires were shot. Yes, it's pretty damn reassuring that you got four wheel drive.

The 6.0 is a great motor. So are older duramaxs (lly, and lbz) if you need something that will tow heavy trailers easier. Also better fuel economy with the diesel.

I love my 2012 2500. It’s just a big dumb L96 V8. It does all the things. Not fast, but not slow and always reliable. Did just put in a new billet Torque converter/trans rebuild... But the ol girl deserves some love after 224000 miles. Hope to be driving this truck till I can afford the right diesel rig.

I've had a lot of GM vehicles. I am just an impulsive buyer when it comes to vehicles. Anyways, GM has been doing extremely well, especially in their pickups, since 2007. When they finally started using the Allison transmission, that's when the GM pickups have become more reliable. The 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, and the 6.2 engines have been remarkable. As long as that person takes care of that vehicle, easily can hit 300,000 mi
