@Poulton Real The Nissan Jukes are nowhere near as popular as anything else in the segment. I see lots of Hyundai Konas and Mazda CX-3s/CX-30s, they'll probably last like 5 times longer than the ugly Nissan Juke, I dont know about Hyundais, but Mazdas will definitely last a long time. The only thing they used to have going for them is that they were cheap, sometimes by up to $5k compared to others. But nowadays the price difference is so slim, there's no reason to pick the Juke over anything else in the segment at this point. I have no idea what a Qashqai or whatever is though.

@@myk1_sp I think a lot of people, who get poor service with these late model Chevy Trucks, would own them longer if they changed out the gear oil in the transfer case and differential with a good quality full-synthetic gear oil. They might get better life out of the transmission if they used a good third party full-synthetic ATF that is spec'd for their vehicle, as well. The engines have a design flaw that I don't think can be overcome with better maintenance.

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD with the 6.0 and the 4L80E transmission. When GM built those 6.0L engines, they built them right! 226,000 miles and this thing still will pull our 7000lbs travel trailer down the road like it's not even there. Acceleration will still put you back in your seat! One of the best trucks I ever owned. Outside of routine maintenance, replacing wear and tear stuff, it's been pretty much a trouble free truck. Yes, you pay a premium price 2500HD, but your getting a truck that is better suited for heavy duty towing, they are work horses, passes everything but a gas station, better than those sissy 1500s that GM puts out. In the world of trucks it's quite simple, you get what you pay for!

Depends what your going to do with it. Id rather have a 1500 if your just going drive it an haul small stuff. Alot better ride. Cheaper parts. Just because its a HD doesn't mean its all roses. There's cons. Gas variants make horrible mileage an are doggy pulling loads. Just don't get a HD truck if you have it in your head that its tough as nails an the ultimate truck. Pros an cons with everything.

Surprizingly no real rust or rot issues either, idk if they treat the frame different at factory, if it was a 1500 it would be a rust bucket just from driving on salted roads never mind plowing.

I’ve got a 97 GMC Sierra 2500 with 667,000 miles. Still hauls heavy loads of nursery trees from Portland to Seattle every week. I’ve owned 3 fords and every single one of them have failed me dearly. Especially electrical and brake system. This GMC has only had an issue with the distributor and headlights. Easy simple fixes. If you want a truck that will WORK for the “long haul”, get a GMC. My own two cents.

Stay away from the LB7 Duramax(2001-2004). The rest are reliable motors As far as Ford's go, stay away from the 6.0 and 6.4 power strokes. 6.0s can be reliable if you're willing to put some money into it. The 6.4 is a throwaway motor and the cores are running out. It'll be a dead platform here before too long. The 6.7 power strokes are reliable except for the very early variants. They had turbo issues but for the most part, they're reliable

I own a Chevy 2011 2500HD 6.0L gas with 60K and it runs very well. Had to replace the evap solenoid a couple months ago, and now getting a p0171 and p0174 code that it needs to go in for. However, no major issues. Overall it has been a great truck. My only complaint is the crap job GM does coating their frames, as the frame is extremely badly rusted. I need to find someone that will take the time to do a good job removing the rust and recoating it for me. Good to hear your thoughts as it makes me more confident to invest more money in it to get the rust cleaned up to make it keep lasting.

I've had a lot of GM vehicles. I am just an impulsive buyer when it comes to vehicles. Anyways, GM has been doing extremely well, especially in their pickups, since 2007. When they finally started using the Allison transmission, that's when the GM pickups have become more reliable. The 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, and the 6.2 engines have been remarkable. As long as that person takes care of that vehicle, easily can hit 300,000 mi
