As someone who rebuilt front ends, did alignments, and did much work with struts/shocks back in my former life (AKA the mid 90s, my younger years), you became my hero tonight. I have never seen ANYONE compress a strut spring with a tie-down. But dammit if you didn't make it work. Spectacular! 👍

I really like the look of those tabs. I lifted my Corolla one whole bolt spacing on the rear. Front wouldn't take that much of a lift because of the axle hitting the suspension, so I made a spacer out of a 2x6 instead of the whole 3 inch bolt spacing. Manual transmission tows trailers like a champ

Don't worry about what people say bro. I DONT! I am a full time Plumber and used to work out of a GMC savanna before it shit the bed. It used to cost me 40 dollars to drive it a few towns over and back. I loaded up my essential tools into the trunk of a Corolla and managed to get by just like that. Now I fill up my tank with 30 bucks and I can drive across the state and back. Sure I can only load a few sticks of pipe 6ft at a time. But I'm only small time, It works. I dare someone to say something lol This video helped me validate everything I was coming up with. The roof rack is a good idea I wanted to use it for pipe, Or a 6 or 8ft Ladder.

The 1st gen Rav4 shared design elements with Corolla. Being that the Rav4 was available with both auto and manual versions in 4wd, it may be a semi bolt-on deal to convert the Corolla to 4wd. In other markets, similar year model Corollas were available in AWD.

This is cool to see,I have spent time in many countries and I remember seeing many lifted corollas,camrys, and some mitsu models mostly in east Africa as the roads are bad and those are the most common cars used as taxi cabs. I have always been a fan of the old AMC eagles and the Subaru legacy outback sedans,toyota had an awd Camry when they had the all Trac thing going on(celica,Camry,corolla,tercel) back in the 90s that I always thought could have used a little lift,who knows it may have been a hit for them had they lifted it a little.

This turned out great! What tire size did you end up using? I had one and ran a set of 205/60R15 tires on it (on aftermarket black steel wheels) with a 1 inch lift. Made the steering feel way more firm like you were driving a larger vehicle. It was the 4 speed auto "LE" trim and was a great car.

They are 27x8.50 14s! It drives better with these firmness wise as well!

@@PuddinsFabShop Wow I looked into it and with a stock size of 185/65R14, the 205/60R15 I was running were 5.2% taller and they looked big to me, yours are the equivalent to 215/75R14 which are a whopping 13.8% taller than stock and 1.2 inch wider. That is impressive, no wonder it looks so aggressive. With your speedo reading 13.8% slower than you are actually going you better watch out for Johnny Law. It was great on road trips but I would always end up going well over the speed limit and not realizing 😁

I've always wanted to lift my sedan like this since there is a lot of fast floods incident happening in my area and having the offroad tyres can help me survive by going to a higher terrain.
