Such an inspiration. I'm a high-mileage retired Marine and washed up power-lifter who contemplated quitting many times. People like you who keep pushing the envelope no matter what keeps me motivated to continue training despite my age and injuries. Thank you, God Bless, and never stop chasing your dreams. If you can perceive them you can achieve them. Semper Fidelis, Ken

Most likely my favourite video! I've been following your channel for years, and I do crossfit. Actually I started crossfit because the only people I knew of who did barbell training were you and MEGSQUATS.. seeing you get excited makes em excited! Well done too! What did you think of the games? There was so much running and the cuts were aggressive. But I tuned in and overall really enjoyed watching it. yay for the video and lifts, I'm feeling like hitting the box now:)

Cleaning from a deficit (weightlifting shoes) is bound to increase the deadlift. That's the beauty of indirect training. The body still receives enough stimulus from certain movements that it creates adaptation.

not in powerlifting, everybody has a spotter at whatever weight they think they need it. And yes, at the weight you were squatting you can just flip the bar backwards and go forwards, but if you do that more than once at a powerlifting meet you are out the door & disqualified. I still remember when a powerlifting friend of mine had 900lbs on the bar and it somehow slid off his back. 900lbs is going to fall faster than you can move. LOL That happened about 40 yrs ago. Mark Chaillet was the lifter. Keep lifting :-) Hope you heal up 100%

I wish Kristen would have acknowledged the epicness that was Tia vs Amanda in the clean event a little more. Having Kristen fail on 220 while Tia won on 265 made me appreciate that event even more.

In weightlifting there are weight classes luckily!:)
@ruzaroos5 жыл бұрын
Kenneth Stålhammar True but Tia won Gold at the Commonwealth Games at 58KG and Kristen competes at 63KG. Not that Tia goes into the Crossfit Games at 58KG since there are no weight classes there. I'm not bashing Kristen at all. Those are deadlift weights for me lol. I just had no idea Tia was that strong; on the 3rd day of competition no less. I guess I'll have to see Kristen and Tia stand next to each other one day, for research purposes of course :)

@@ruzaroos - never watched Tia compete in weightlifting tbh and Kristin now lifts in the new 64 kilo class. Tia looks bigger to me and from what I understand a lot of people question her being natural. Thanks for your response Ruza!

Bobby you are essentially watching the olympics of CrossFit, these are the absolute highest level athletes in the world. I have people from 16-60 in my classes and I scale their reps and movements to match their abilities. Can you get hurt in any sport, absolutely. Hell I have seen three people die on Raquetball courts, that doesn’t mean I tell people Raquetball is dangerous.
@bobbydemarko5 жыл бұрын
@@azdevil5649 dude, its the movements that Crossfit espouses, they are very dangerous olympic lifts that tax the joints and the skeletal bone structure especially the spine and I can't imagine what the hell anyone is thinking jumping up and down and using momentum with an olympic bar across their clavicle? What is wrong with you, of course cross-fit is dangerous, it places a great deal of stress on unwanted areas of the body, the movements themselves are not natural movements and the classes are exceedingly difficult , and do you even stop people from wanting to do more weight on these exercises no, you encourage PRs on them! One should not even know what their PR is on every single exercise, one rep PR have you completely lost it?
@azdevil56495 жыл бұрын
bobbydemarko seeing as you have this figured out I won’t waste your time asking questions. I am curious why you watch an Olympic weightlifter only to say anyone who picks weight off the ground and puts it over their head has no idea what functional movements are but I digress. Enjoy whatever you do to stay fit and leave others to do the same.
@bobbydemarko5 жыл бұрын
