How to change or program a new code in to a Liftmaster digital keypad KPW5 and KPW250

I tried all the steps you suggested and cannot get my code set and now I actually erased the code I had before and cannot open with this keypad. Help!!! I notice after the 6#8 there is 3 beeps instead of the two I heard here.

Jack, There is a RESET button behind the keypad you have to open it with the provided key.

Hi I have the same issue. I try to change/reset the code. Had it opened pressed the reset button for 6sec with a long beep sounded. What is now? I put my new code end with #, but it’s not working😢

VG-Tech Automated Gates & Access Control Systems 0 seconds ago 1. Unlock and remove the faceplate. 2. Press and hold RESET button on the control board for 6 sec. until a long tone sounds then release. 3. Press and hold RESET button on the control board for 15 sec. 3 long tones will sound indicating the keypad has been reset. Hope it will help.. :)

Now.. your master code is "888888". You start over.

my gate will only let me set 2 codes. is it possible i have an even older model? i had it setup with just one code. i wanted to change the code cuz my contractor and his subs were using it. they are done. i erased old code and put in 2 more, but that is it.

Even with the older model, you should get at least 5 codes. Try RESET the keypad by pressing the reset button inside the keypad.

Unfortunately there is no way. Yet.

Anyone can go to your gate and add himself a new code 😅 doesn't require learn or anything from the main controller. I guess the only way for my particular unit is to populate all 5 codes that it allows to store. This way you can't add a new code unless you know any of the existing codes.

You can do it only if you know the master code. So make sure you always change it.
