Sir, Please please clear d doubt: for complexes like a) [Re2Cl8] 2- and b) [Co2Fe2(CO)11 (mu-PPh2)2] neural method doesn`t give right answers, for a) oxidation state method works, for b) none of them...why? how to go for such type of complexes

Won't Cl also result in change of oxidation state to Fe+ in sandwich compound you've taken as example and that would result in change in electron count. Please explain

keepawaythat yes it can cause Oxidation but here we using neutral method so that why we r taking only one electron from X if we use Oxidation method then we have to reduce one electron of metal and adding 2 electron from X

Treat AsPh2 and SiMe3 as NH2 and CH3, so the electron contribution are 1 in both seperately. But (NCMe) satisfy all bonding conditions, I don't understand, why and how it would be (NCMe)2. For NCMe, the e contribution may be 2, donation of 2 non-bonding electrons of N.
