Amazing. I just purchased one of these based off this review and your trip series with Jim "Above the Height of Land". I tried to purchase through your Amazon store but I couldn't get the package deal of the Explorer 1000 and the two SolarSaga 100W panels. I still mentioned your name when making the purchase but it probably won't give you any credit. My wife and I were comparing this product to some competitors and I told her "I can't think of a better product endorsement than someone who is willing to put their lives in the hands of a product by taking it on an extreme expedition like you and Jim did".

I have both the Jackery 1000 and 500 plus the 2 100w panels which I use for short blackouts. I really like the ease of use, versatility and rugged build quality. I also have 3000 watts of solar, a 2500 watt sine wave inverter, 1000w solar charge controller and 4 Battleborn 100 Ah batteries for SHTF situations or anything longer than a couple days. I also converted my 7KW generator to natural gas so no need to make refuel trips. I would recommend that everyone prepare for long term power outages considering what is going on in the world today.

I wonder if it could run an electric coffee pot. They draw allot. But anyway, awesome unit.
@TheRealTedBaird
@TheRealTedBaird 3 жыл бұрын
id say if it can run this skillet you most likely can to heat the element in the coffee maker so id bet yes. Part of why i think so is this unit also has a surge peak of 2000 watts so it wont kick off it it goes over 1000w temporarily wich may happen with a electric coffee pot but after the unitial surge they come down so id bet it would work fir sure. The 2000w surge is pretty sweet. It says it will run a coffee maker for 88 minutes...Anyway thought it was pretty cool also
@chrishorning7853
@chrishorning7853 3 жыл бұрын
Most basic coffee pots run around 800-1000w. you can check the wattage on any electrical appliance. Just make sure it stays within the limits of your inversion and you can run almost anything. I'm sure they make units that put out more power.

Yep awsome unit , if the power goes out on a cold wintry night , how long can this battery last , just having the lights on ? Perhaps lights and a radio ? This would work good around my place .We get rolling blackouts every 4 months here . They're trying to save money for the city , however it's causing more problems than it's worth . The grid doesn't like being manually shutdown .Jucntion boxes are burning out .crews need to come and replace them .sometimes there are fires in the middle of the night . I can buy this on Amazon ?

Great review Ted and very detailed. Now I have a good idea of what it can power by looking at all the things you connected to it. Living in south Florida with the hurricanes we need a good unit like that one, I dont like the gasoline generators due to 1st you need gasoline, 2nd they are loud and most important when we get hit by a hurricane, gas stations can go out of comission. One question, if it rains ate the solar panels water proff? Thanks!

Totally agree. The pannels featured here are not waterproof but Jackery now has a single 200w very waterproof pannel available it folds up and is pretty sweet 👍 combined with their 1500 unit its has fast charge tech and charges super fast also. 🍻

Hey so It would run the skillet for at least 40 min or a full size refrigerator for 7 hours... for example. I didnt time it exactly but had the skillet on for at least 30 min then the other things plugged in at times etc. The 2 pannels here capable of charging the battery to full in 8 hours.

All good Dustin i appreciate ure thoughts for me It depends if its its something you need or want. Many people need them and it saves them money In that case it can be useful video if your in the market for it. Because i have heavy power needs these types of systems are something i have to have. This unit i would bring if was doing a large video production if it was a small production however id go with one of their smaller units. Ive done a 32 day trip using solar to charge batteries before and have also done a 2 week one using a gas generator its just the reality of being away from an outlet and having power needs. Im also in places that loose power etc. For those that live the van life or car camp these systems would be vital etc and save $ over all then letting ure car run for example wich is very expensive. So if you need it or want it the info is good if you dont then you dont. Personally i was impressed with this unit kinda feels nice having it as a security blanket around the house too especially with all the covid madness....Feels more secure then a gas generator that u need fuel for. But many people would want both. Anyway cheers bro thx 4 checking it out
