Great timing! I've been looking for a smaller profile plate carrier but wanted something different than a JPC. This video has sold me on the Recon

That's awesome, I really like my Recon. The only thing that I have considered changing is the cummerbund recently and that is just because I want to run pouches at my 11 and 1 o'clock position again and with it's current cummerbund that is a little more challenging. But in it's stock configuration it is still a formidable plate carrier and a great JPC alternative.

@@Muddy_Reviews I plan on either getting a new cummerbund or getting some sort of adapter so I can use a 152 wing on the 11 o'clock position. I like the idea of the clips, they just limit the options. If the Recon had the adapters from the WAS LPC it would be awesome

Love the review. Just ordered one a few days ago and should be here this week. Picked it up because I didn't want a JPC and I works with my Pathfinder Chest Rig from WAS. Very limited experience with WAS but just from my short time with their Pathfinder chest rig I've been impressed. Love there elastic mag pouches and may switch from the tried and true Esstac Kywi's I've ran for years.

It is a great rig, I can say I did end up swapping out the cummerbund eventually for a Haley Strategic one but that was purely due to personal preference not because the WAS one was uncomfortable or bad. I love how this rig is low profile and the placard / chest rig integration is top notch. Thanks for the kind words and really glad you enjoyed the review!

I love this plate carrier I can get it for 200 but I’m aorried that you can’t run side plates on the cummerbund

@TheJoeml85 the cummerbund is a three strand similar to the Crye JPC and AVS. You would just need MOLLE side plate bags and you would be straight. The Recon is a nice rig and comfortable, I need to run mine some more.

Spiritus ones work really well because the two Molle attachments are closer together, you can move them closer to the front without them interfering with the clips.

Just curious, does side plates with a hook velco attatchment? And have you worn the PC with any side plates?

Nice. Is this with a medium or large cummerbund? I see they sell cummerbunds by themselves in M/L and trying to figure out how many columns of Molle a medium has. No answer so far from them or the dealers

I think it is M/L the cummerbund but I will dig it out and see if it is marked. I currently have a Large AVS three strand cummerbund on the Recon.

@Ordinary American hey man not a bother at all sorry it took me a few days to get back. So the Cummerbund I have is 7 Molle channels. It isn't marked M or L so I would have to reach out to WAS about the size but I would think it is Large as that is my normal cummerbund sizing. As for the make pretty sure it is UK.

Warrior doesnt make their plate bags in 11x14, its a bummer for us tall dudes with wide frames. That 6'5 and XL T-shirt size life is a tough life when buying gear

100 percent agree man and I feel your pain, I'm a Battle Cattle, 5'9 and XL shirts. But the WAS csb take 10x12 and Large SAPIS as well as Large Swimmer cut plates. kzbin.infoiHMPsP7YSgc?feature=share Check out my short I just recorded, 10x12 triple curve and S&S Large Swimmer cut training plates both in the WAS. The bags are neat as they seem to have just enough excess to fist fuck a large plate into them.

That's a huge issue for me as well, i already have the WAS DCS in Large size (at least that's what the store said, that it comes in 2 sizes medium and large) which fits me great, however i wanted a smaller profile pc too so i ordered today the recon as well, also in Large size (still don't know if it's true) i am 6ft 220lbs. I will know tomorrow if i fucked up 😅

The heaviest a standard ESAPI plate weighs is 2.40 KG. You can possibly get 15-20 KG into the plate bags, but they aren't designed for that level of weight, so your experience may vary. I would recommend finding a Crossfit designed plate carrier that is intended for the extended weight or just stick to Ballistic plates or analog within the rate range and pouch out the system, and add individual weights to the pouches to increase the weight.

I am actually working on getting a DCS currently. The DCS is similar in style to an MBAV and I REALLY like my MBAV but this is also a really nice plate carrier. I think this gets a bump due to the modularity, if the DCS had a removable cummerbund flap and utilized placards it would be the better option as it has a little more real-estate.

I didn't think it would matter as everyone body type and shape is different. That's the reason I don't usually show it on. In my case I'm a thick boy but going forward I might start doing that.
