Context: Zoe actually "Killed" Xayah and Rakan, then revived them and corrupted them. The more Xayah embraces her sadness and anger, the more the corruption is eating her. Rakan on the other hand, still hasn't been corrupted as much as Xayah is. So he knew something was a miss. And he figured out how to save her (but with the cost of losing himself to darkness, cause basically he's absorbing the darkness not dispelling it). Xayah and Rakan was attacking Neeko because they were mad about her just running and hiding while they're being killed. (Xayah was mad too because she saw Ahri and Ms. Fortune is fleeing, leaving them behind while she and Rakan were dying). And Zoe could corrupt her too. The ending shot was Ahri finally going back along to take them back. The stones she's holding is Neeko, Xayah and Rakan's emblems(?) They were destroyed and she assumed they really died.

Ahri, Rakan, Neeko, Miss Fortune, Xayah used to be in the same star guardian team. This is reflected by the silhouettes at 5:32. In a devastating battle against Zoe, three members-Rakan, Xayah, and Neeko-were thought to have perished. Rakan and Xayah became corrupted, and Neeko-lost in space-fought a lonely battle against the enemy.

So, not sure if you already know or if u even gonna read this, but, just in case, Xayah and Rakan got corrupted, but at this point Rakan is not that far gone and is secretly going along just to find a way to save Xayah, and eventually Ari and company succeed on saving her but Rakan stays corrupted and that leads to the music video and Xayah's new team of guardians on their quest to save Rakan

look up the Star Guardian fandom wiki. you will find everything there. from the first line of star guardians to the most recent skins. Xayah and Rakan start from the Light and Shadow and are in most of the ones after. Personally I only care about Xayah and Rakan and what happens to them. But there are short stories you can read to get ALL of the background for Xayah and Rakan in the Star Guardian universe. I HIGHLY recommend you read them! Hell you could even make videos of it, just reading through the lore, and your reactions. Rakan and Xayah obviously have the best storyline. Little hint... They used to be in Ahri's First team (Ahri, Miss Fortune, Neeko, Xayah, and Rakan). The rest of the storyline I recommend you read for yourself! Rakan the fkin man!
