To all those who dare utter the words but Minecraft is bigger I know Minecraft may be 5 times the size of earth but to those who say that makes it bigger I sincerely believe that light no fire is going to be bigger in simply square miles of a map. Even if the sheer square miles of the map are not bigger it’s still bigger, bigger in hight one Minecraft block is one square meter the Minecraft map hight is 320 and the lowest the map goes is -64 for a total of 384 blocks in hight for a Minecraft world. Mountains on the other hand in this game are taller than Everest and Everest is already vastly taller than the maximum hight in Minecraft because Everest is 8,848.9 meters already at least this game is confirmed to be at minimum 8465.9 meters taller than the Minecraft hight as mountains in this game are confirmed to be taller than Everest! That’s not to mention it will probably be a larger map in square miles of map than Minecraft as Minecraft is only 5 times the size of earth and I say this game will likely be longer. So I longer wish to hear anyone utter the words but Minecraft is larger ever again and Minecraft can go suck it!

My main thought about Light No Fire is that a lot of people are reacting to it as an RPG, comparing it to Skyrim. I don't think it'll be like that. I think it'll be much more sandbox, with some core quests and environmental storytelling--similar to NMS.

The issue I had (and still have, because it's still the case) with No Man's Sky is that it feels like it's a game meant for you to hop on after a long work day and fall asleep 15 minutes in. You basically just veg out and laser things into dust and roam around trying to explore until you realize there's really nothing interesting to be found in the first place. Hopefully theres more going on in Light No Fire...

From Bard: (I asked it: If I had a flying dragon I could ride on, how long would it take to explore all of earths lands if the dragon could fly at a top speed of 180mph?) Quick overview: Flying continuously at 180 mph, it would take roughly 315 hours (13 days) to cover Earth's total landmass. Moderate exploration: Assuming you spend half your time flying and half exploring on the ground, with layovers and detours, a moderate exploration could take anywhere from several months to a few years. Deep exploration: If you want to truly immerse yourself in every corner of the world, landing, hiking, and experiencing different cultures, your dragon-powered journey could span decades or even a lifetime.

It's currently impossible for us to create enough interesting content to fill an entire planet. Does this mean, for example, that the "bunny base" we see in the trailer is only in one single spot on the planet (highly unlikely) or is it repeated thousands of times around the planet - much more likely. Either way, it makes for a boring repetitive experience, or a boring "there's nothing interesting here" experience.

What makes a game cool? Things to do. Skyrim and other games throw events and quests at you all the time. I'm playing Skyrim again and every time I play I'm impressed by the number of missions, quests and activities that are spread throughout the world. Light no Fire will be a game as good as the activities, missions and quests that are available to be completed. As they promised that everything would be procedural, I don't have many expectations about this, as I haven't seen a procedural system of missions and quests that is really good. Maybe they will use AI to create branching missions and quests, but we won't know until the game is available. As for me, I hope to be playing on day 1.

Judging by the flying mounts and their faster than fighter jet speeds they'd have to be traveling to traverse mountains like they do in the trailer... I'd say with millions of players if they all have a mounts and fly circles around the planet... technically, you could, within 24-48 hours, have the whole planet mapped depending on how far from the player the fog of war is uncovered with each pass. Obviously, it won't be in-depth exploration, but like satellites in orbit, we could all essentially "Google map" the game planet.
@justjarrod

@trademarkshelton
@trademarkshelton 8 ай бұрын
I’m guessing it won’t take long to establish the low res version of the world map, created by the spiderweb of everybody’s initial journeys across the globe. So the more long lasting exploration will consist of the on-the-ground, small scale discoveries. Continuing to ferret out little pockets of civilization, finding cool little geographic havens, and other things like that. If it works like NMS, where small bits of land are discoverable and nameable, there will be enough of them that that aspect should continue for a longer time.

Now whenever a game company comes out with a new game everyone takes it with a grain of salt because it's just become so normal to lie to millions of fans to get them unnecessarily hyped for a game that won't deliver on its promises. Devs wanna talk about how hard games are to make yet there's 10x more devs than there was ten years ago, and they're still putting out the same level of quality. Managers talking about how nobody wants to take responsibility, and CEOs looking for every opportunity to bleed its fan base. Bethesdas my favorite, TES to be exact, but I'm not even excited for 6 anymore, or for any game, the first thought at this point is just, "well after their first five patches where they fix a few bugs and add the rest of the original content it MIGHT deliver on some of its promises"

I don't for sure, but I imagine it's going to be like mine craft in the sense you create a world that you can set a public or private and you can create multiples of them or just stick to one as you play. I don't think it's going to just be one world where everyone loads into it. We saw 3 different types of generation in the trailer. I would imagine updates will be much like NMS where new stuff will populate into created worlds and thus may cause problems with established bases as happens in NMS with big overhauls.

i consider myself a die-hard No Man's Sky VR player and i could not imagine that any other genre Hello Games will approach with their next game would catch my interest, but Light No Fire certainly did. If this is playable in VR i am totally in. Regarding the game itself i suggest it's kind of similar to No Man's Sky, which means that there is a core storyline, which leads to you throgh basic game mechanics and once you've finished this one it's up to you how you play this game. Due to the fact, that everyone is spawning on different places on this planet i suggest that there are a ton of repeating interest points you can visit through your journey. There may be very unique things you can find on the other side of the globe, but i guess that everything important will be within a certain boundary, which you can reach during about 50 hours of gameplay. I am not sure how they will handle NPCs in this game and how much terrain can be pre-calculated at the same time. In No Man's Sky the calculation of planets in a system is done while warping to it, but how can it be done if you simply walk or fly over the landscape ? Anyway, Hello Games have managed to create a hype with just one trailer and almost no additional information.

You want to play with your friend but they spawned 100 miles away. Only one of you have a flying creature for transport. Are they still your friend? Size isn't everything. No she may have said it, but in this case it's true. What is more important is density of content. If Activity A and Activity B is ten minutes away from your current location and there's nothing or very little of interest in between, that ten minutes is going to feel very much like ten minutes. See quantum travel in Star Citizen, or twenty jumps in Elite Dangerous.

How many ppl can play on your session? Will it be persistent really? Per region? Or overall? How will they manage that? I cannot fathom the process behind it

From what has been said, it reads as if it'll be every player on the same planet. I'm not sure I'd want that necessarily, but that's what it sounds like.

There’s a small bit of additional information available on the website, but mostly, people are hyping the game up based on one trailer and a few things that Sean Murray said. Sound familiar?

Redemption games that was broken at first were Final Fantasy 14 Online, No Man's Sky, then Cyberpunk 2077. These games are good its insane. Also i just watch videgame maps size comparison videos and No Mans Sky isnt a map but a friggin computer chip😂

I know you didn't just claim to find other people on day one of no mans sky. Did you not pick it up on release? There wasn't multi-player for at least the whole first year of its release. I'm also not 100% certain but I imagine Light no fire is going to be like Mixcraft in the scense that you build a world with personal preference choices and can invite friends or potentially make it open to the public. I don't think it's just going to be one world map that the entire community all plays on together like in no mans sky. Just my thoughts anyway.

Day 1 of nms, two people livestreaming the game ended up on the same planet in the same location but couldn't see eachother. When Sean said like 3 years prior to release that you would be able to see other players but it wouldn't matter because it was mathematically impossible. This is what started the fire of "Sean lied" way back then.

Good video, however I would point to the elephant in the room. This is Hello Games and Sean Murray, the same guy that lied and over-promised about No Man Sky. Yes they redeemed themselves eventually, but don't make the same mistake of hyping yourself for a game that Sean Murray talks about. Just wait for it and we have more concrete details with actual gameplay and knowledge of features, before expecting too much. You will save yourself some headaches and maybe some money too. Do not pre-order :)

The size of this world will be impressive yes but like many I ask “what can we do in it?”. The reason I stopped playing NMS is boredom, it’s big yes but it’s much the same where ever you go and once you’ve done a few things well… This game will need many NPCs if it’s gonna feel alive, will the NPCs be factions, will we have competing guilds, will it have a coherent narrative and not the nebulous one NMS has and how many quests? I think given HelloGames experience with the NMS release they won’t repeat the same mistake again and the world will be as big as they say, an amazing accomplishment BUT WHAT CAN WE DO IN IT? Plus a world this big is gonna need continuous updates for content if it’s not going to die as just a big empty world, for me anyway. I’m looking forward to this game and its size and HelloGames is showing what’s possible BUT they do need some real good RPG Devs to bring a world this large alive. I’m hyped and looking forward to this no matter what but I just hope it is not a NMS repeat that’s just on one planet.

How is the traveling going to happen in this game if you travel on foot or flying mount, It would take months just across the continent. I don't Think that's plausible or even interesting

18 quintillian planets actually boils down to about 30. It's a meaningless figure because they are all just a reskin of the same few planets. Don't focus on size or scale. Hasn't Starfield taught you anything? What's important is gameplay, which we know nothing about. Nothing else matters.
