Totaly Agree … I have faith in Hello Games to deliver something amazing. I have been a gamer since the 70’s and was fortunate enough to end up working in the industry .. I Have never seen a studio so committed to deliver what they promised and give its community something special with NMS So this new game might fall foul of the hype train again but i know that it will be tweaked into another 10 year project that will keep us coming back for more … I’m very excited for this game ❤

I am looking forward to this game and I think this may be the sequel to NMS. This could be Atlas being rebuilt or restarting after falling into the black hole in the lore of NMS. Super excited to see if I'm correct.

This makes NMS seem like a tech test for this game. They've taken what they've learned and put it all into one planet.
@CyberVikingGaming11 ай бұрын
One thing that I have noticed that makes this look so good is since the planet is so massive, the horizon looks much more like an earth horizon that we're used to seeing. And by that, I mean that it doesn't curve nearly as much as in nms. That alone makes me excited. I hope that the world is actually "mappable". that perhaps at some point, we can actually see the globe and all of its continents, mountain ranges, and anything else that might be there. Visit sites that other players have found. Very curious how they'll handle long distance travel.
@josefwollersberger155211 ай бұрын
I love that kingfisher mount. I want that even more than a dragon. 🤩 And given the size of the mountains, we will probably get deep oceans this time around too.
@ROBOTBOYINITIATIVE11 ай бұрын
That would be great. I wonder how we'd go about exploring them though, as submarines etc. I assume won't fit within the lore.

@@ROBOTBOYINITIATIVE I could see it being a species and/or magic thing. One of the people in the underwater scene looked like they were based on an Otter, so that would cover lakes, rivers and coastal waters nicely already, and maybe they will add in other playable species who can go deeper as well, like something based on whales, merefolk or argonians. They could also add magic that lets players breath under water for a while, like the suit modules in no mans sky, and aquatic mounts to get around faster, or a combination of all those, where some species can hold their breath for longer or can breath under water, while others need some spell or trinket.

It looks like mounted combat will be in-game if you look closely you can see different weapon icons show up on the bottom right of the screen throughout the trailer whenever the player is shown riding a different mount, I spotted a bow, magic staff, and a sword, which gives me the impression that they might have aerial opponents that can swarm us in the skies or maybe even siege weapons we can destroy from above.

I swear back during the original launch period 10 years ago, Sean Murray was asked by an interviewer (maybe it was Game Informer?) something like “Why not just take all the procedural universe tech and bring into a single planet?” At the time Sean brushed it off, but I guess the idea must have stuck with him looking at the concept of Light No Fire 😅

As a day one NMS player who left for years only to return about 18 months ago, I can say without a doubt that I trust HG to deliver something compelling. I also hope that mission locations, or beacons or whatever, exist in a physical area in the world, and doesn't just spawn in within a radius when activating a mission. I'd like to travel across this Earth planet for days even, to experience that journey to get to beacon, temple, npc, or whatever. To really feel like a traveller, and with survival elements. I hope theirs survival elements in the game like eating, drinking, sleeping, and temperature stuff as well to really live within the game world. I'm excited! I'll preorder this game like I preordered NMS those many years ago.

Good point. I wonder how persistent the world will be, especially if everyone is sharing the same planet. I'm assuming it'll be the same for everyone, unless each player gets their own seed for the planet, which would equally be interesting.
@kubabooba54811 ай бұрын
I don't think their will be seeds, however if everyone is sharing the same planet, and the experience is the same for everyone then a mission location could be like a hub, and players from all across this planet could coincidentally meet. Imagine, you spawn in the northern hemisphere, I spawn in the southern hemisphere, and by chance we both meet at the same mission location. That'd be awesome, and because the game is so huge, we would talk about were we came from. What we saw. What the climate is like lol. That'd be crazy immsersive. @@ROBOTBOYINITIATIVE

Because after 7 years, we've seen how the engine works on all kinds of proc gen, we've seen how MP works. So the baseline experience of Light No Fire has been already set by NMS. It can only get even better from there. Looking forward to that game as well.

I really hope this game performs as good as i hope it does. One point of worry for me is not rendering of the world when flying. What do you think about this? This is shown @10:26 and @11:20 you see the world is rendering just below the mount on the left.
@ROBOTBOYINITIATIVE11 ай бұрын
Agreed. Probably my main gripe with NMS still, but I try look past it because of the scale of it all. Here, just rendering a single planet, I'm hoping that they're able to optimise their LOD pop-in a lot better. But if that's the worst thing about this game, it's not the end of the world for me, and I imagine on-foot will be more than fine.

I'm more hyped for this than GTA 6. They look to have included features into Light No Fire from No Mans Sky, I just hope Light No Fire isn't No Mans Sky 2.0, but with a completely different identity with Hello Games DNA. I wonder if the medieval age is just a starting point and as more people play, over time, maybe you progress through ages. I hope theirs enough variety in the biomes because in NMS you land on a planet, and what you see around you is the entire planet. Everything starts to feel the same, theirs a lack of variety, so I hope theirs more to see, within the biomes. I'd like to just walk, and notice the colour of the grass change, the trees start to look different, that sort of thing, to feel like I'm moving between areas. I hope you can play solo, because I wouldn't want to buy Xbox multiplayer pass. For a game this big, Hello Games really needs to release a polished, and grounded game because the flop that NMS was, and the recovery, Hello Games still wasn't able to recover those player numbers that they lost on release. It's really hard for a developer to bounce back after a failed launch even with the updates, and so on.

Yes, in 2016 the game launched unfinished. No one denying that. But 2023 No Man's Sky is proof that their tech is functional now. And Light No Fire is promising, if anything, LESS than what No Man's Sky promised at launch, and is made of content/systems that NMS is doing extremely well right now. If anything, Hello Games have done everything possible to prove that they will NOT release a game in the state they did before, and simply would not allow themselves the possibility of that to happen again.

A huge part of NMS failing so badly on launch was that they underestimated how long it would take to develop.
