I just use my old floating fly line and cut it to various lengths - works great - i attach it to the lilian with a short piece of flyline Backing (nail knot) - and also have a short piece of backing (nail knot ) - with a tippet ring to attach my tippet -

This is something we have seen people do quite bit, I like the idea of a short piece of backing at the end with a tippet ring tied on. The Light PVC Tenkara Line we sell will be a bit lighter than the running line from old fly lines if you would like something similar but lighter.

I like the look of the line I usually just cut standing floating fly like but the loop always seems to come off the Lilian unless I'm constantly catching fish so the loop on this line is much better I'll prolly order some soon maybe even do a vid about it but is the line hollow or does it have line inside as well like standing floating line does either way nice vid take it easy

it has a braided core that allows it to float.

I use a short piece (4" or so) of backing tied with a nail knot to the floating flyline - then tie a loop in the end - and attach that to the lilian - never had it come off!

Thanks for posting. Interested in your sling. Appreciate knowing what it is and who sells it.

it is a sample from a manufacture, so no one sells it yet.

so the obvious question is line sag. doesn’t the heavier line detract from drag free drifts? would it make sense to use enough pvc line to cut through wind, attaching the pvc to level line to find a balance for keeping line off water? thinking out loud

You can attach a short section of the PVC line to the end of a level line to make a weight forward tenkara line if you would like. Level line is the gold standard for drag free drifts because you can keep all the line except the tippet off the water. PVC lines and lighter furled lines (like the Katana and Shogun furled lines) are not far behind that with just a foot or so of line on the water, this is still great for drag free drifts most of the time in my experience and light years better drag free drift control over a rod and reel setup that has all that heavy fly line on the water.

@@DRAGONtailTenkara awesome thank you. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention I recently bought the Nirvana 400 and absolutely love it.
