Great video gary. I’ve only ever done crabbing in the old dry docks. Never imagined there’d be cos in them. Will let my boy have a shot there or the one with the stainless steel ships in on Saturday

Hey buddy your videos are great, I'm a Geordie lad who now lives in Cape Town so your uploads are always appreciated! Good to see the Tyne looking healthy. Used to fish there as a kid in the early 80's and it was a very different river! Whenever I'm back in the UK still go and wet a line down there and around Blyth, happy days! Keep them coming fella. Cheers buddy!😄

Cracking video mate and great fishing! Never used the savage gear worms before, they look like another interesting option. Codling are one species we don't seem to get down south, they look like they put up a decent scrap on the light gear 👍🎣

Thanks mate. Aye they put up a decent fight. I’m hoping they will work for the wrasse. 👍

thanks Gary, may well have a look there next time i am up, does it matter about the tide times ? does it need to be high tide there to try in front of those flats ?
@fishingintheukgarywood6 жыл бұрын
No probs. No there is water in there at all states of the tide.

I’ve put loads of fish in that little dock, honestly mate someof the biggest flounders you will ever see... please too anyone who fishes this spot please please put the fish back, it’s a cracking spot for beginners and kids to have some fun.
@fishingintheukgarywood5 жыл бұрын
yeah its a class spot. I had a peddle past last week and it looks like some kind of blue dye has been added to the water, do you think the fish will still be alive in there with that in the water?
@conzilmichael27035 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard that there is still fish in there and when I’ve peddled past recently I seen a few ripples in the water of the little collies

gary can you catch bigger cod in their inwinter .do they come in that far
@fishingintheukgarywood6 жыл бұрын
I think they get stuck in there and can only grow to a certain size. You can catch bigger cod in the main river.
@bibcay2622 Жыл бұрын
What size weight did you use?
@fishingintheukgarywood Жыл бұрын
I think they were 3 or 5 gram jig heads that came in the kit.
@Program2live6 жыл бұрын
Gary where did you go for that kit? Can't find it anywhere
@fishingintheukgarywood6 жыл бұрын
Got it off ebay Cameron.
@Program2live6 жыл бұрын
Aye, I have just bought some off eBay :), do you reckon they will work well off shields pier?
@Program2live6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, I got the same kit as you and went to that exact location. Caught nowt twice not even 1 bite. How do the fish even get in there?
@fishingintheukgarywood6 жыл бұрын
Hi cameron there is a pipe that they can get in and out of there at high tide.
@Program2live6 жыл бұрын
Ah right, that explains it then, I think most of the round fish that would go through a pipe have gone to deeper water, so they most likely moved from there, shame I wanted to put the kit to good use
@fishingintheukgarywood6 жыл бұрын
Try milldam or the walkway at high tide there’s usually fish around there to target.
@Program2live6 жыл бұрын
Aye, I think I will try the walkway like, suppose if there's nowt I can just go on the pier to catch a few on bait :)
