Our fire dept had one of these on an old rescue truck, light wasnt very impressive so we took the x mirror setup and remounted the mirrors one on top of each other like a cascade mirror and it was tons better

What is the difference between an AeroDynic with sealed beam rotators such as this one and an AeroTwinSonic?

This actually is what is also know as AeroTwinsonic (24X, 24R). The Q means halogen/quartz option. The name AeroTwinsonic was never used on the actual bars, only in Federal Signal marketing language.

Oh, no kidding. I did not know that TwinSonic was not actually an official name! I also did not know that they were still producing them simultaneously with the gear driven AeroDynic lightbars, either.

Well, TwinSonic is the official name for the predecessor, but not AEROTwinSonic. The AeroTwinSonics were made as a cheaper/more basic option of the AeroDynic roughly from 1980-1990, while the synchronized gear version was available from 1977-1993.
