This is so true! Being able to laugh at myself and not be so serious about my goals has come with getting older and maturity for me, great video!

Thank you for this!!! Sometimes I am blinded by my need to succeed in yoga and other aspects of life, I feel as if any respite from strict dedication will derail me and throw me off my path. You're right, I need to keep a constant reminder that life is supposed to be fun and full of compassion! That through these imperfections I can actually understand myself better.

scarghhh Exactly :) And of course keep practicing!

I think it's best in "Living the yogi life" series. For most of the time those episodes don't hit the mark for me. Either i don't have that problem or solution doesn't really fit me: "Yeah-yeah, she says right things about being nice and forgiving etc, but i'm a jerk, it won't really work for me". But this time, Kino, you hit it perfectly with both problem and solution. I often bash myself for not dedicating to my fullest extent. You may call it a "gym syndrome": either you work out to the failure or you wasted your time for pointless sweating, no middle ground allowed! And humor is excellent solution for many troubles, making fun of yourself helps in most cases, but i've never really tried to apply it to my yoga practice. And whom i'm trying to fool, every one knows this episode is best thanks to a fish face!

Great message, I need to learn that to laugh at myself, I'm too serious especially about my training, but sometimes I let go and laugh about some of my miserable tries of new pose/exercise etc. Kino I love listening stories from your life. Peace :)

I needed these…. Even for an experienced yogi, how refreshing! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these because like I said, even an experienced yogi needs to be brought back to basics sometimes. Thank you so much!!!! Namaste 🙏🏻 🥰

You are inspiring Kino! This morning 's practice got funny when at one point our instructor in the middle of a pretty challenging yoga for flexibility pose, said now make a gesture of no, now make a gesture of yes, now make a gesture of maybe!! Huh!! Hahahaha , I burst out with a guttural laugh. It felt great to release that energy. Ok you had to be there, lol. When I was teaching I wished I could have Interjected the lesson with funny antidotes. I think my students and I would have enjoyed the process more. It's not easy being funny, but like everything in life the thing is to just be yourself, give yourself kudos for what you do well, however small you think it may be, stay true to yourself and loving and having compassion will come more effortlessly. For more funny faces, just look at yourself on video and pause it at different times. Freezing the image while talking, produces amazingly funny faces. Anyway I really find you amazing and your videos super fun to watch.

***** This is great. More "chats" of these kinds are great. Many students out there need to know the inner workings of our practice and community - our thinking, our flaws as humans and so on. Sharing your thoughts like this is a great idea.

Starting yoga when I was 14 I know this feeling. I am now 16 and love yoga beautifully. However, I need to let go of being perfect. I needed to hear this. I feel like time goes by more quickly as a teen and it feels like oh my goodness I can't get handstand lotus off the wall!!!!! I can't get my whole chest on the floor on in chin stand!!! But now I no that it's ok to not be perfect. I am now able to laugh!!!! Fully and appreciate it!!!

Hi Kino, I've been following you on KZbin for a while and I thought it's time to say hello! ;). I love Living the Yogis life and I find it particularly useful in times like now, when I struggle with an injury and am restricted in yoga practice which can be frustrating. Your words give me encouragement to keep going and I'm very grateful for it. Thank you and looking forward to the next episode already! ;)
