I went a different route to keep a 10" screen. I have a LVS12/Ultra106 build using the Garmin Livescope Shuttle and Bag (I think a bag is key to keeping everything protected when ice fishing outside vs in a shelter), it weighs 14.8 lbs total with a Norsk 15AH battery (best AH to weight ratio battery) that gets about 6 hours of runtime . Hole Hopping with a 10" screen under 15 lbs is awesome, yes the LVS12 is limited in terms of cone angle, but for live scanning panfish directly under an ice hole it works just fine...The best part is I just swap the Ultra106 screen between this hole hopper setup and my main LVS34 Summit HD shuttle.

I think you’re correct on the portability aspect ! But you need to ad the protection aspect of it into the equation ! A heavy box that will protect the unit when you have one slip or fall on the ice while hole hopping would be priceless in my book !

For the pure Ice fishing guys, it would be lighter if we could find a way to cut that dang livescope and transducer cables to a length we want. I don't know if this is possible but some weight is from that wrapped around cable.

Nice build , you could shave 2oz off your block mount. Take a hole saw and drill some 11\2 " holes in that board and see how much you can Swiss off ... I like your idea of having the it compact.

Very cool. I wonder how much weight a larger battery and 9inch screen would add?
@AlexTimm
@AlexTimm 7 ай бұрын
Going to the 93sv would add about 1.7 lbs. Depending on the battery, even if you went up to the 19Ah NMC, it is adding ~2lbs and would get you 12+ hours of operation with the 9" screen (but you would have to make a couple adjustments to the box to make it fit). So realistically if you upgraded both you would be in the ~19 lb range for the setup

@@AlexTimmThere’s a big difference between a Amped 48ah battery and their 32ah battery weight wise but they say you can get all day and more from the 32 👍👍I have the 48 and wish I would’ve went with the 32 !
@AlexTimm
@AlexTimm 7 ай бұрын
Yes a couple pound difference between those two batteries, I added a bit more detail. I think for the LVS32 and a 93sv setup, I would recommend either going to a 19Ah NMC or the 32Ah NMC. 48ah is a lot of battery for that setup. Are you using the LVS32 with the 93sv screen? Or what do you use?
