18:31 I️ am catching up on Lightfall videos while having a horrendous flare up. I️ started to get a headache on Sunday night. Yesterday was a mild headache, until I went to bed and then it got so bad that I slept horribly. Today it has become a full blown cluster headache and has triggered a full flare up. My meds make me drowsy, but it’s daytime and I have things to do I’m trying to just power through. So this moment was so relatable and I️ started to get teary eyed thinking about you in all that pain.

24:21 Dragons in East Asian folklore have magic. I believe their magic is usually related to the domain they rule over. So river dragon = water magic, cloud dragon = storm magic, etc. and in some Western worlds mythologies dragons have powers of hypnosis/persuasion, which is how they get their minions (which is where the Kobolds in D&D kind of get their lore) And while D&D does invent a lot of its own lore and obviously its rules for magic, a lot of it is steeped in folklore because it’s based info Tolkien who was almost as much of a nerd folklore as he was for languages. ((Also, sorry because I’m probably commenting too much, you guys are just too fun and your conversations always get me thinking))

22:54 As a millennial with a partner, no children, and an incredibly spoiled house cat, I️ agree with this statement. If that baby boy so much as sneezes we are calling the vet. We never let him linger in any state of discomfort for long. So If I could choose the form I would take im my next life, I️ would definitely choose a house cat living with a childless millennial couple. Also this discussion is totally the sort of random stuff my partner and I debate about. Logan is a lot like my partner too. Mostly chill, fairly logical, supportive through the bad pain days, and so good at making people laugh. You guys are cute ❤

I enjoyed Orbital for what it was, but it definitely felt like *literary fiction* not sci fi. It's not really SCI FI if it's just technology that current exists just in space, is it??

Honestly, when I tried reading Orbital, the writing for me was way too choppy to get attached or interested. I DNFed 30% or so in and did not regret it (also the whining for soviet union did not endear me to the book either).
