As someone who does a lot of similar product shots to this, the one thing I would add and would say could be improved upon is in the final shot of the whole can the La Croix logo gets kind of lost in the highlights and shadows. Clients are usually pretty big about the logo and product itself being immediately visible/readable. But that's just in my experience, otherwise this looks amazing and I really appreciate the helpful breakdown!

I would love to see how you would light for a cosmetics commercial. Especially stuff like lipstick, perfumes, soaps, that kind of stuff. Absolutely love this series!

Given the popularity of tabletop RPGs, I think a commercial for a new book or game line would be cool. Savage Worlds, Alien, Delta Green, Call of Cthulhu, Star Trek Adventures, Vampire, Dungeons & Dragons... the books tend to be beautiful tips on getting around reflections in the glossy covers would be a good tip.

Hi Valentina! After seeing this video and few others I ordered 2 x 300D MII... lantern, fresnel, reflector etc. I already own 2 120D. After a while I finally realized that shooting products (especially with high framerates). I also use a Laowa Probe that is a great but "blind" lens! Need plenty of light. So my answer is 400DMII ! Valentina if you want I may ship you a couple of our in-ears as samples!

I would like to see a "commercial trucking" commercial... showcasing Freightliner, Internationals, Ken Worth or Peter Built trucks. Water splashing from underneath truck tires going through puddles, drivers riding up hills or along the Cali coast or in the mountains with a nice voiceover actor telling the story. I think that would be a great commercial. The trucking industry is what helps keep the world moving.

I would love to see a high-end fast food commercial - closeups of burgers on the grill, movement of ingredients coming together and several meals stacked next to each other, think Arby’s or Wendy’s

Personally I would like to see a budget version of maybe a knife or some food related product commercial, so you can show us how that even with less equipment something amazing can come out anyway. Just to inspire filmmakers who are just starting out, like myself

Maybe sometimes done cliche, but watch commercials often have so much going on. Glamour, action, maybe even some narrative. I think exploring lighting for the product while also creating a mood would be challenging and informative

Let’s see a car commercial next. I want to see how well the newer, more powerful units will hold up in a white cyc setting and on a mobile car rig setup.

Such a cool lesson! I would like to see a commercial for skater shoes, like Vans or something like that. How would you shoot that? Either that or a commercial for a laptop or tech stuff in general ;)

I'd love to see a commercial for services, like a law firm or insurance. Something where you don't have a product to anchor it. Often this type of commercial is complete crap and it would be great to see some ideas on how to light it in more compelling ways.

On Sony a7iii, Sii or fx3 you won’t loose a lot of light with 120fps :) you loosing a lot of light with macro probe lens but you won’t say when is paid ;)
